Boat from Chile to Easter Island

Can I go by boat from Santiago to Easter Island? The Easter Island is considered to be the most distant island in the atlantic. There' s a boat that holds provisions and passersby, but I believe it is limited to those who live on Easter Island and take ruling missions.

Journey to Easter Island from Chile or Peru?

Since I would like to go there, is it possible to organise a journey from Chile or Peru to Easter Island, but my RTW journey does not have it?

Yes, but only from Chile! Costly flights (does not know the precise price).

I am sure that there is a frequent postal from Valparaíso, but I do not know if and at what cost they take people.

Hi, I made that journey last year. Since I am traveling on individual trips, it was not included in an RTW rate and I got it on-line with Lan.com for $500US.

I' ve been meeting more and more and paying less and more for their rates, so it really just really just hinges on how early you get in, I guess. As I know that if you fly from Chile to New Zealand, you can stop on Easter Island (if you have a OneWorld ticket), so it might be rewarding to check it out.

From Santiago the journey lasts about 4 minutes. The Easter Island is a fanatic place and I had the feeling that the funds I had to spend were well invested. Would its an expensive place once you get there.

I was on the same journey as you two years ago. LAN Chile is the only airline that can take you to Easter Island, and only in two ways. Santiago and Tahiti. There are no stopovers on Easter Island between New Zealand and the AU. When you are considering renting a boat, remember that it is about 3000 km from the Chilean shore, so it could take a while.

On the island the cost is very high, considering that all food is flown to the island and not by boat!
