FC Ferries optimizes Gambier-Keats schedule

During the Langdale mooring project, BC Ferries says that the journey on the Langdale to Horseshoe Bay is still going smoothly, with good ratings from travelers and a punctual service of almost 99 percent. The Stormaway, which operates on the Gambier and Keats isles, is leaving Gibsons Marina during work in Langdale.

For most of them, the layer that included a Gibsons to Langdale transfer has worked well, says Darin Guenette, BC Ferries Director of Recreation. However, for some, the timetable was problematic. "Following a weeks of our new replacement duty, we received some input from Gambier-Keats people, as well as our FAC (Ferry Advisory Committee) about some of the flaws and shuttlecraft that do not hit the Stormaway very well," Guenette said.

"We find that BC Ferries and the Stormaway staff and all do everything they can to make it work," she said. Stamford also said there is an issue that might take more in the way of sorting out - park at Gibsons Marina. Route 3 and Route 13 timetables will be continued until the work on the Longdale terminals is completed in early April.
