Moloka'i is an apocalyptic novel that talks a lot about the story of the leprosy colony in Kalaupapa on Moloka'i Isl., Hawaii. Rachel, who is sent to Kalaupapa as a young woman, is the protagonist of the novel. For over fifty years, Rachel has witnessed the happenings in Kalaupapa. Rachel's familiy is presented in section two.

Rachel is taken to the Kalihi receiving station in the third part. The fourth section is devoted to the years 1892-1894. After Rachel gets to Moloka'i, she gets into trouble immediately. Rachel sets himself up for Bishop's work. With her first true meeting with the dead, Rachel struggles. Running off to find her Uncle Pono.

She is seventeen and is having her first birthday and her first lovebirth. So Rachel gets to meet a new girlfriend Lani and gets to know her little mystery. Ramón Rachel is still fighting a leper. She' ll put on Haleola's burial and help Sister Catherine. to get out of her leprosy. No. She' s meeting a new man.

Both Rachel and Kenji are getting better and better and trying to make Kalaupapa better. This is Rachel and Kenji's rapport proving to be very powerful. and Rachel's trying another leper outbreak.
