This is a classical South Island route that will take you through the scenic landscape around the Southern Alps. The South Island bend leads you along the coastline between the two biggest towns of the south, Christchurch and Dunedin. At Dunedin you have plenty of opportunity to discover the Otago Peninsula's unparalleled fauna before heading to Te Anau, the gate to Milford Sound, where you will discover the length of the fjord.
