Is Hawaii a Country

Hawaii is a country?

Hawaii and the United Nations Section XI of the Charter of the United Nations addresses the non-self-governing areas and demands that" people who have not reached full self-governance be held accountable internationally. "The members of the United Nations who have or take responsibility for the management of areas whose people have not yet reached a full degree of self-government recognise the priority of the interests of the people of those areas and agree as a holy faith the commitment to promoting the well-being of the people of those areas within the system of internal harmony and safety created by this Charter, and to this end: a.

Developing self-government, taking due consideration of the people' s efforts and supporting them in the gradual evolution of their free and free economic bodies, depending on the specific conditions of each country and its people and their different levels of civilization....; Since Hawai'i was a "territory" of the United States in 1945, it is not surprising that in 1946 the United Nations named Hawai'i as an ungoverned area under the United States' jurisdiction (Resolution 55(I) of 14 December 1946).

Alaska, American S...moa, Guam, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands were also included as non-self-governing areas under the United States' jurisdictions. Between 1946 and 1959, when Hawaii was enjoined to become a state, the United States: 1 ) a "sacred duty of allegiance" to the "inhabitants" of Hawaii described in paragraphs a. and b. and 2) an undertaking to report annually to the General Assembly under e. above.

From 1946 to September 1959, America submitted Hawaii International Report to the United Nations Secretary-General. The United States informed the Secretary-General of the United Nations by letters of 17 September 1959 that Hawaii had become a State of the Union in August 1959 and that the United States would then stop transmitting information to the United Nations.

After receiving this note, the United Nations withdrew Hawaii from the non-administered areas register. The title of this motion was "Factors to be considered when determining whether or not a territory is a territory whose population has not yet reached full self-government. "Part II of the Resolutions lists elements indicating the achievement of "other distinct self-governing systems".

The second part of the resolution dealt with elements that point to the free association of the area as an integrated part of that country. Hawaii has been made a state of the Union. The indigenous peoples were neither given the independence nor the statute of a free association, nor were we permitted to establish our own type of state.

Part II of UNSCR 742 lists some of the factors: Degrees to which the nations are of different races, languages or religions or have different cultures, interests or ambitions that distinguish them from the nations with which they are free to connect. The level of self-government in matters of economy, society and culture has been demonstrated by the level of liberty from the pressures of a particular country, such as a non-national minorities, which, with the help of a non-national force, has achieved a preferential economical position which is detrimental to the general economical interest of the territory's inhabitants, and by the level of liberty and non-discrimination in terms of the area' s native inhabitants in terms of welfare laws and in terms of the development of society.

The story confirms that the United States has breached the terms of Resolution 742. In 1959, the 1959 national election did not offer the Hawaiians "several opportunities, inclusive of independence", nor did it give the Hawaiians the opportunity to establish their own "separate system of government". "Consequently, the indigenous peoples of Hawaii were not permitted to exert the "right to self-determination.

" There has never been a United Nations referendum on state identity, nor has the United Nations been monitoring the trial. -The U.N. record exposes that the United States was a permanent member of the U.N. committee that conceived and operated America's statehood disclosure. Upon receipt of the reports, the UN took Hawaii off its register of non-self-governing territories despite the fact that the United States had breached its "sacred trust" in the Hawaiians and all the peoples of the territory.

Hawai'i Ka L.....hui Hawai'i thinks that Hawai'i should be reinstated on the United Nations ungoverned territories so that the decolonisation can begin. There can be no question that the citizens' prerogatives of the Hawaiian nation are being infringed, given the 1991 report of the Hawaii Advisory Committee to the U.S. Commission on Civilian Rights.

Pending these questions, the United States should be obliged to report annually to the United Nations on the state of Hawaii and its indigenous population. At the 1989 World Churches' Congress in Geneva, Ka L.....hui Hawai'i was able to table a motion for a re-inclusion of Hawai'i in the United Nations Non -Administered Territories register.

During their participation in the 1993 World Conference on Human Rights in Vienna, the Global Indigenous Delegates at the UN Plenary Session demanded that Hawaii be reinstated on the United Nations ungoverned territories register. {\a6}(1) Action des Nations Unies dans le domaine des droits de l'homme, publications des Nations Unies, numéro de vente : F. 83.XIV. 2, United Nations, New York, 1993.
