Celebrating the further development of the tourism sector in Guam: night

Guam Visitors Bureau was proclaimed by Lt. Gov. Ray Tenorio, who introduced May as Tourism Month and celebrated the industry's contribution to our Isle. The GVB was proud to accept the declaration on account of all the people who have helped the tourist industries in Guam. We thank you from our pioneering staff to our more than 21,000 tourism professionals for your dedication and dedication to Guam's No. 1 industrial community.

While we are celebrating the GVB's 55-year history and the Tourism Week, I am delighted with the positive development of the sector over the 55 years: In 2017, Guam greeted a new visitor turnout of 1.56 million. The W.A.V.E. Club started thirty years ago to inform the schoolchildren of our country about the tourism world. The Tourism Education Council organised the first tourism exhibition for young people and TED-like lectures for college and college graduates in 2018. Last weekend we honored the Tourism Works posters competition-winning WAVE club members Doriana Penaflor, Xavier Guiao, Jaydidia Kosmes, Amaiya Soledad and Steven Magno. The Agat's Mango Festival will take place this months from May 25th to 27th and will host a 2K/5K Mango Run/Walk on May 19th. Recently opened its full-featured exhibition, the Guam Museum was created with the help of tourism funds so that the Guamans could pride themselves on sharing their past, cultures and customs with world-class displays.

Successfully hosting the Pacific Arts Festival in 2016, Guam recently completed the thirtyth annual Guam Micronesia Island Fair. The interest in the Micronesian, Polynesian and Melanesian civilizations is growing and has developed into a great way to draw travellers. Working with award-winning Beautiful Destinations, GVB started a worldwide promotion that will capture and share Guam's unforgettable experience through Beautiful Destinations' Instagram, Facebook and Weibo channel.

It is behind one of the world's biggest global corporate community in the field of corporate citizenship, with 15 million employees in 180 states. It informs in digital form about the country's inherent beauties, the Chamoru civilization and the individuals who affect the decision-making processes of travellers around the globe. After the legalization of same-sex marriages, Guam is ready to be a target of the election for LGBTQ travellers from Asia and around the globe.

The tourism is the mainstay of our economies and is a 24/7, 365-day never- before-sleeping industrial sector.
