Rarotonga Population

Population of Rarotonga

Haemoglobin in Polynesia. Population polls in Rarotonga and Niue. - PUBMAed

In 1980, Rarotonga and Niue Polynesia investigated glycose tolerances and the prevalence of affected glycose tolerances (IGT) and diabetics. Rarotongans as well as Niueans have been strongly affected by socio-cultural modernisation and (in the case of Rarotonga) tourist activities. Males and females had a greater than 10% and 15% incidence of normal blood sugar intolerance in both population groups.

In both genders, there was a link between glycose tolerances and old age and obesity, but not between glycose tolerances and adiposity. There was no difference in the tolerances of Rarotongans and Niueans in terms of aging and adiposity. Comparison between regular volunteers, participants with reduced blood glucose tolerances (IGT) and diabetics with regard to traditional factor associated with blood sugar tolerance provided some assistance for PGT as a truly intermediary class of adiposis.

USSP: Who we are

Cook Island comprises 15 archipelagos spread over an area of almost 2 million km2 of the world. Until USPNet communication with the USPNet is developed, USP communication will be provided on Rarotonga (10,572 inhabitants) and on the regulated flight routes on the USPNet archipelago â namely Aitutaki (1,771 inhabitants), Mangaia (562), Atiu (468), Mauke (300), Mitiaro (189), Tongareva/Pehrhyn (213) and Manihiki (238).

There are no scheduled flights to be operated from the airports of Raqahanga (77), Nassau (73) and Palmerston (60). Small research centers were set up on the Mangaia, Mauke and Atiu Isles in 2013 and 2014. The USP Cook Island was founded in July 1975 in the old Tupapa Rarotonga Hospitals. The USP Cook Isles are being constructed on a part of Puaau Section 161, Ngatipa Tapere, in Avarua, Rarotonga.

Alumni of the Cook Islands can now take the opportunity to do a doctorate as part of an exciting programme of scholarships to support research in the state. P.O. Box 130, Rarotonga, Cook Islands.
