Maha Shivratri celebrated by Bhartiya Mandir

Organized at Balmoral Temple in Sandringham, Bharatiya Mandir Maha Shivratri saw more than 2000 followers celebrating for an hour on the 25th February to participate in the Holy Week's prayer. Every year Shivratri is held on the 13/14th lunarless moonlit Phalgun or Maagh nights. Celebrating the wedding day of Lord Shiva and Parvati.

Dressed in ethnical clothes, men, woman and kids visited the festivities in the church, with a thai (plate) of fruit, bale leaf, sandal wood powders, cumkum and baby bottle. Submissives used cumkum and laid cathedrals on the lingame. The Shivratri praying ceremonies include the casting of cream on the Shiva Lam, known as the Shiva Buddhist church, which means the followers' devotedness and devotion to the god.

Each follower took part in the Shiva Lingam and most of them remained behind to sing and pray beside the clergyman. Brahma Kumari Group from New Zealand also presented a four foot high Shiva Lingam and set it up at the sanctuary.
