The Whangamata Beach

Named the best New Zealand strand by NZ Herald 2018 readership. The Whangamata Bar is one of the most popular windsurf breaking beaches in New Zealand. Broken hands attract windsurfers from all over the globe. Whangamata Beaches have mouths at both ends that are ideal for kayaking or SUP (Stand Up Paddle Boards) exploration.

Surfboards, SUP surfboards and canoes can be rented in the city. While Whangamata is also home to one of New Zealand's most scenic seaside landmarks, Whenuakura (commonly known as Donut Island). However, this has been changing in recent years as this tropical paradise is quickly becoming a must for New Zealand.

The Island Watchmen and the Whangamata natives are encouraging you to deal with the island with a view to preserving their futures. It is also a great place to unwind because of its close location to the city. It' also ideal for hiking and jogging along the 6 km long sandy area.
