Three to Waiheke - Review of Fullers Ferries, Auckland Central, New Zealand

We' re taking the Fuller to Waiheke. Our vacation began the minute we got on the boat. From Auckland to Devontown and on to Waiheke and back. There is a frequent service (every 30 min to Waiheke) and a stop in Devontown. You can also take a boat to Devontown and back.

It was a pleasure to sit outside and enjoy the view - not only of Auckland from the sea, but also of the American-style sails. The price for the way back to Waiheke and the stopover in Devontown was about $36 NZ. Explorer leader tells us we can't buy a Waiheke and get off at Devontown.

One of Auckland's premier cruise companies, Fullers offers a variety of cruises, touring and charter services around Auckland Harbour and the Waiheke, Motutapu, Motuihe and Rangitoto isles. From its Auckland's downtown cruise port turnstile, behind the legendary Central Auckland cruise ship, Fuller's ferryboats carry multiple loads a day across Hauraki Gulf to Matiatia Wharf on Waiheke Island, a 45-minute commute.

Motutapu is about 35 min. by car, while the journey between Rangitoto Wharf and Auckland is about 25 min. Auckland Harbour's eleven passenger ships, the biggest and newest in Auckland Harbour, usually have a fully licenced lounge, Wi-Fi access, air-conditioned top and bottom seatecks, and a lookout onboard.

The Waiheke Bus Company also operates Fullers, which connects all Fullers ferries arriving and departing on the Waiheke Islands and also offers shuttle ferries in and around Auckland. We may also use Fullers ferries to check with other carriers.
