Austral Islands is a place of tranquil tranquility, tranquillity and proud. Rurutu is known as a haven for cetaceans and is the main tourist destination in this remote area. Austral Islands, called after their position, are the most southern group of islands in Polynesia. Among the islands are the biggest, Tubuai, which is also the capitol; Rurutu, the most amenable; Rimatara, the smallest; Rapid, the widest; and Raivavae, the most beautiful; as well as two small, uninhabitated islands:

The islands are remarkable diverse, from the Rurutu Caverns to the Rapa Fortifications and the windswept Coves. Polish civilization is vibrant and good on the Austral Islands. Old folk were well-qualified wood carvers, and remains or replica of their fine works of artwork can be found all over the islands.

Travellers come here to enjoy the simplicity of their lives and interaction with these likeable individuals, but the true attraction is to remain in Rurutu and meet a different kind of population. It is a magic archipelago of caverns and lush flora. Across the coast, Rurutu is known as the whale watching spot because every year from July to October southerly humpbacks come to these hot shores to breed or give birth and care for their young.

Because of the unbelievable under water view this is a wonderful nirwana for enthusiastic scuba diver and whalewatchers who hope to meet these great sea cetaceans. Rurutu, Tubuai, Raivavae and Raffa belong to the islands with small inns. Rurutu, Tubuai, Raivavae and Rimatara are served by frequent flights, but you can only reach the city by ferry.

Tuhaa Pae II regularly carries deliveries and people from Papeete to the Austral Islands. Unfortunately, these migratory animals come and go with the seasons, but throughout the year the Austral Islands are a place of unchanged tradition and peace.
