The Stewart Island Backpackers is situated in Halfmoon Bay - ideal for relaxation on the shore or to explore the island. When you are there from March to September, you may also be fortunate enough to see the Aurora Australis (the southern lights)! There is a large common cuisine, a barbecue area and the rooms are hot and tidy.

The best hostel so far! - Bunker's Backpackers, Stewart Island, New Zealand

Backpacker is located in a small building with separate rooms on the first level and dormitories on the second. There is a large veranda to the gardens and everything in the town is within 5 minutes on foot. They also liked the fact that they kept my baggage even before I went to sleep there when I went for the big stroll.
