Gambier Island's boom areas map, Howe Sound, B.C. Especially designed for B.L. Johnston, Walton Co., is a map with possession, sites and capacity of the boom areas of Southern Gambier Island. Gambier Island is shown in its totality on a small map. The two diagrams show two kinds of columns used in growing soils and a way of ensuring the attachment of the chains to the rocks.

Gambian Island Paths

Gambé Island is the biggest of four in Howe Sound. The three small municipalities of New Brighton, Gambier Harbour and West Bay are connected by dirt road. The island is part of the Sunshine Coast and can be reached by long-dale Ferry Terminal via regular ferries. From the beginning of May 2011 the price for an adults is $7.15 (including taxes) and will take about 10 mins.

Pets on a lead are permitted on the New Brighton boat. The best thing to do is to wrap up your meal for a hike. The island's picturesque walks and hikes are accessible from the various bus stops in New Brighton, Gambier Harbour, Fircom and Artaban.

Gambier Conservancy (GIC) has done a great work of documentation and cartography of the many roads around the island. That is why, and because I have not yet done these walks myself, I have decided to create a hyperlink to the GIC website to give you the information you need.

The directions on the GIC website are connected to a contours map of the island and are located in Crownland. Most of the routes are not suited for bicycles, but there are no special limitations for cycling. For the GIC website and to view the tracks, click here.
