Exploratory researchers are travelling to the isolated Isle of Woleai in Micronesia for a complete darkness.

Tuesday evening you will be able to see an astonishing show in the skies above the world. However, to see its real powers, you need help from the wise explorers in the San Francisco exploratory. Soon, grown-ups can feel exactly the same way. "I have seen 10 sunsets and they still inspire me to death," says Dr. Paul Doherty, an explorer.

" Both Doherty and Robyn Higdon rehearse for a show that will take breathtaking pictures of a complete sunset. It is the product of a unique orientation that creates a shade several hundred kilometres in width and transforms the sun into a nocturn.

And at the same it somehow fades away the darker skies behind the day. "But since the sun's darkness is not coming directly across the Bay Area, the exploration crew is getting ready to go to darkness, a voyage that will travel tens of thousands of kilometers across the South Pacific.

Our goal is a secluded little village of Woleai. It is a minute micronesian apocalypse that happens to sit in the midst of the way of the dark - the band of almost complete black. Once on the shore, the exploration teams will install a camera, telescope and distant recording room to turn the solar blackout into a real time weepcast.

"The exploratory will be a great exploration experiment, it's only the second best you can have in person," Higdon said. "At Woleai, the solar darkness will take place around midday. If you can think that it is a nice, bright, warm weather on a small village, then suddenly it goes into the city.

This is a complete sunset. What is a complete sunset? It is a beautiful vision of seeing a star in the center of the sky and a planet in the center of the day," Doherty states.
