The heron' s miracles and attractions do not end at the waterside. It is a sheltered marine tortoise nest and one of the few places where eco-travellers can observe marine tortoises in their nests and hatches. It is also a hatchery and nest for a wide range of bird species, and for a few month it is home to several thousand migrants.
