An eagerly awaited modernization and extension of the former terminals was carried out in 2014, which also involved the modernization of the toilets inside the terminals. Whyalla Airport is open to the general public between 9 pm and 6 am. Inhabitants can take flights to and from Adelaide with the following airlines operating from the airport.
Whyalla to Adelaide (311 kb) - The flight time from or to Adelaide is 45-50 mins. Airline and four rental cars, Avis, Budget, Hertz and Thrifty, use the terminals to serve their regular airline clients. During all other hours the terminals are unsupervised.

There is a toilet in the terminals (also for the disabled). Airport is open to the general public between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. (if not approved). It has two take-off and landing strips, three airstrips, the General Aircraft Runway, a secured ramp for transporting passengers on a scheduled basis and a grass pitch for helicopters. Fuelling equipment belonging to and run by Whyalla City Council (Avgas and Avtar can be reached at 24-hour airport number 0417 842 459). The Aeroclub is owner and operator of the company Cominity. Payments for medium-term parkings can be made at one of two ticket offices; a cashier for money or cards is in the luggage acceptance area, as well as a pure bank account at the entrance of the multistorey-carpark.
Annual season tickets can be purchased between 9.00 a.m. and 2.30 p.m. at Whyalla Airport.
