November Weather - Vanuatu Forum

Hello, had a great vacation in Vanuatu August 2006 and thought of 7 day in B / V next months (November 14 to 21). Having checked the weather on several pages in November, it doesn't look like lightning. Everyone learned P/V in November. Anyone got any alternate destinations with great snorkeling, good weather (in November) and not too far from NZ not breaking the bench.

Hi Hubbles, is it the warmth you want to prevent? It can be very wet and warm sometimes, but we were there in November and also had quite cold weather. We were in Santo in the northern part of the country last November and there were as many cold as the hottest one.

When it rains, try to prevent it, it's always a stroke of luck in the tropical regions. No, it is not the temperature or the air moisture, but the rains and the winds, as it seems (Nov/Dec) the beginning of the hurricane period after some locations.

Well, if its just rains and breeze then you are likely to get that at any point of the year, but it is usually blended with grand finer dates. It is generally regarded as the first few moths of the year, but you can get apparently cyclical breezes every year.

So a little breeze and precipitation is just everything for the place.

Zyklon Pam: 24 corpses corroborated as Vanuatu accused of climatic changes | World Intelligence

Twenty-four dead when Hurricane Pam struck Vanuatu at the end of the week, the agencies said. It has destroyed structures, destroyed infrastructures and driven more than 3,000 refugees from the South Pacific state. Since the extent of the hurricane was not clear due to the remoteness of the islands and its heavily corrupted phone line, a declaration by the Civil Protection Bureau increased the number of deaths from one-digit figures and said that 3,300 persons were accommodated in 37 emergency shelters.

There are fears that this number could increase further as communication with the remote isles is re-established. First evidence suggests that the destruction of the countryside is far greater than even in the capitol Port Vila, which itself is very severely affected. When the first emergency crews to arrive on these shores were warning of significant damages, Vanuatu Chairman Baldwin Lonsdale said the weather was becoming more severe as a result of this.

At a UN meeting in Sendai, Japan, on Monday, 90% of the Port Vila building was damage or destruction by the Class 5 wind, which saw up to 250km/h (150mph). As Lonsdale said, the cycle times the country had been experiencing were directly related to the effects of war.

"We' re seeing ocean levels rising.... The cyclonic season, the heat, the rains, it's all affected," he said. "We have more this year than any other year.... Yes, it' s due to this. Care International said it had just got its first updated from another of the country's 83 island, Tanna, just South of Port Vila, which was even more directly in the way of the wind.

"He said that most of the population on the Outlying Isles is totally peasant. Humans are living in very basic shelters, wooden cabins and leafy palms. Under no circumstances will such a building be able to resist a Class 5yclone. In Port Vila, where the clean-up work began, many had not heard from their relatives yet.

Uniticef has voiced serious concern about vulnerable or affected by cyclones. According to the telecommunication operator Digicel, communication in the Port Vila region of the Isle has" almost completely restored", so that the information flows in and out of the areas affected by the disasters function better. Australia's Secretary of State Julie Bishop has promised $5 million and New Zealand has made an offer of $2.5 million.

Hurricane Pam traveled to Vanuatu to the southwest and arrived in New Zealand on Monday. Cyclones have been declassified by a Class 5 windstorm, but in some areas of the land the weather was bad. At Gisborne, in north-eastern New Zealand, some 40 persons were displaced from houses at ocean floor to school.
