Amateur, Hawaii - May 6, 2014 - We are Samoa! Hawaii's biggest Samoan arts fest and an outstanding display window of Samoan tradition, the We Are Samoa Fest, is emphasized by the thrilling World Fireknife Championships and the inspirational High School Samoan Artstival. One of the six PCC archipelago communities, Samoa is Hawaii, Tahiti, Tonga, Fiji and Aotearoa (New Zealand) celebrating the local civilization and heritage in the 42 lush green acre of the centre.

Samoa has always been one of PCC's most beloved daytime activities, offering a fun and thrilling programme with treeclimbing, peeling coconuts and fireworks shows. The PCC has created the World Championship of Fire Knives in order to present this esteemed Samoan heritage and to preserve it for coming generation.

Twenty-second year of the Fire Knife Championship, athletes of different age and ability meet, headed by the senior fire men's division, which draws the world's best fire knife baller. This year' s participants come from California, Florida, Japan and Hong Kong in between Hawaii and the Pacific. You will demonstrate your astonishing abilities and technique of fire knife dance by turning one, two and sometimes even three burning fire knives into a piece of work.

In addition, there is an amusing group contest with choreographies of groups, among them a group of female choreographers with fire knives. The aim of the High High School Samoan Cultural Arts Festival is to preserve Samoan civilization and to promote the good will of young people. Oahu pupils are demonstrating their Samoan cultural awareness by participating in a range of Samoan traditions and living outcomes.
