In Hawaiian, what does Molokai mean?It can be complicated, but that doesn't necessarily mean that evolution is unpredictable.
Thermal Flux, Hawaiian Area - Hawaii - 1967 - Journal of Geophysical Research
Fifty-three seabed thermal surveys were conducted around the Hawaiian isles. Thermal current ranges from 0.71 to 1.9 ?cal/cm2/sec. Mean value for all readings (including ten preceding readings) due N and E of the isles of Oahu, Maui and Hawaii is 1. 38 ?cal/cm²/sec.
Statistic analyses of these data show that the mean thermal discharge through the area south-east of Hawaii, 1. 60 ?cal/cm²/sec, is significantly greater than the mean discharge, 1. 30 ?cal/cm²/sec, through the Hawaiian arc. However, the similarities of all levels to the sea mean indicates that no area is thermically inactive and that the current Hawaiian level of activities does not go beyond the Isle.
