What are the Cook Islands
Where are the Cook Islands? This five-year project aims to enhance the capacity of all islands and municipalities in Pa Enua to address the expected impacts of global warming (including extremes ) in a proactive, inclusive and strategic way. Catastrophe risk capacity is reinforced. In order to reach this goal, the program will assist the implementation of the Cook Islands' new Joint National Action Plan (JNAP) on Civil Risk Reduction (DRM) and Adaptation to Adaptation (CCA).
Funded by the Adjustment Fund, the programme follows a tripartite strategy focused on implementing local adjustment and mitigation actions at the insular and local level, which are part of effective insular and communal building and which are backed by improved domestic capacity and initiative in this area. All four program parts are strongly intergrated.
