Being shot is for Noobs: Fortyk tactics
Take a look at a tactics to not get fired in 40k! Hi all, today I will report on a very popular strategy that I have used almost every match at Adepticon. I used an armies that offered to use it very natural, but it can really be used on all players under 10 that want to be in battle but don't want to get gunfight.
So I' m all ear about what it's called when you blokes have proposals. We' ve got the modest Demon Prince, who leads a beautiful group of cultists into an Tyranid incursion. But that' s a whole group of beehive keepers on the mound, a tyranofex next to them, a flyrant and a mawloc.
Aka, a barrel of weapons.... Today I will show you how to tacticalally get close to this terribly unequal scenery to give you a shot. It is clear in this case that the chaos gamer cannot handle all the threat ahead of him at the same time. This is the chaos game that is prepared to attack.
There' s not much to say about this move, but the chaos gambler has prepared to use several tactics here. It' simple to move forward and backward in groups when placing large entities such as cultists, gants, guardians, orcs, etc.... but it is important to be methodic about their location.
You can see here what my cultist looks like after their indictment. You' ll find that I have encircled the Mawloc to prevent it from dropping back, and have activated the Flyrant. But it is particularly important to know how I hired the Flyrant. I' ve made a 2? void for my prince to join, but I've also put some forward and backward looking for the prince to complete the turn.
When the prince intervenes, you can see that the two cultists are still a little higher than he is, which will be essential for the survival of this game. You can see that the Prince hired the Flyrant because he is within 1?, and the cultists are in cohesiveness and something in front of the Prince.
That makes sure they are nearest to the Hive Guard and Tyranofex, which the Prince would rather not be concerned with. When the turn is over, you can see that the Prince has slain the Flyrant while still standing behind the Cultists. I even habitually encircled the prince's back with cultists to keep me safe from any low forward entering behind me or to make sure I didn't miss any weirdness.
They also imprisoned the Mawloc so it wouldn't fall back. Eventually, this will ensure that my cultist cannot be killed because they are trapped in battle, and my prince cannot be killed because he is a 8-wound figure and is not the nearest to the foe.
I' ve also prepared for a disastrous round 2 in which my prince can start forward and get into the hiveguard. These tactics are not unique to cultists and princes, nor are they contingent on the fact that the enemies are tyranids. That' s exactly the tactics I used against a Shadow Sword in the quarter-finals of Adepticon.
And not to speak of the fact that Sean Nayden's non-Orthodox LVO lists are basically built on this tactics.
