Waiheke Island Bus Tour
The Waiheke Island Bus TourFerries can be very pleasant on a bright summer days and you can buy your ferries on line or at the dock. You can use your mobile to view the bar code in PDF format. (You could be saving a few dollars per ticketing online.) Don't bother about print. At the Waiheke, the landing stage is not far from the shops and the arts.
It' a great way to research and extend your leg, and it's much less expensive than $100 to spend on a motorcycle or the like. I wouldn't hire bicycles on the jetty - the island is at the top and bottom and you have to be a powerful driver to be able to enjoy the work.
This is on the eastern side of the island with lovely sandy beach and cafe. We went uphill and followed the bus path to the highest point of the island. At the highest point of Waiheke you will find a vineyard (Peacock Sky) and Ecozip Adventures (Ziplines). For $10/person, Ecozip takes a bus back to the boat and that was less expensive than shouting a cheap automobile and much simpler than going down the hillside to take the bus.
There were many great photos of the upper decks with our cell phone with our back to Auckland.
Auckland Central, New Zealand - Waiheke Island - Review of this tour
He had a large half working afternoon boat & shop on hop-off tour, went to vineyards, oil fields, stores, vantage points. Beautiful coves with beautiful countryside and some beautiful wine that are definitely to be sample. In addition, the return journey is a lot of pleasure for the kids. This is definitely a beautiful outing if you stay in Auckland for a few nights.
