The best fish restaurant in the wolrd - review of Vitinn Restaurant, Sandgerdi, Iceland

A visit to Restaurant Vitinn is something else, you have never seen such high value seafood meals, it´s an experience in itself to see the great seafood cuisine. - Cancer and shellfish meals (5 varieties): They are all in the bowl - completely with flatware, accessories, seafood ties, bib etc. Greetings, After our first dinner here in Vitinn we had such a good meal and felt so welcome that we came back for our morning meal the next morning and - which is also great for your last night in Iceland before we flew out of Keflavik - spend our last night here with incredibly good seafood.

I had some shrimp broth and the appetizer dish that made me eat dried arctic seafood for the first case (you have to try it!). It was followed by lobsters (a "must have!" - in my view better than on my Boston tour ), whole clod and also the breasts of chickens for my girls - everything was very tasty and completely new!

We had Reynir show us the tanks with all the crustaceans and I learnt (at least I tried.....) to say the proper words for the seagulls. Our delicious food and the hot and friendly ambience we had a great time. In any case, our advice is either to have your first meal here in Vitinn or to have your last dinner (or breakfast / lunch) - it is definitely recommended to dine here and to be so near the Keflavik International Office that it is also very practical!

Thanks for this great feedback. Hopefully you had a nice trip home and hopefully see the whole hostess on your next trip to Iceland. Greetings, really enjoying prawn broth and the prawn festival of shells, shrimps and crayfish. Greetings, During our stay in Keflavik we went a little way to Vitinn and enjoy our meal there.

There was an extraordinary dish of esparagus in the dish and the entrée was spacious and well presented. We' ve had Greenland Halibut, which we know is very scarce in Iceland, and when we came from the western shore of Canada, we found that the flavour and the way we prepared the Greenland halibut far surpassed anyone in our country.

Another extra benefit was a trip Brynhildur took us on to see the seafood containers in the backyard and the explanations she gave us about the different kinds of which she is obviously an authority. Its furnishings are enchanting, interesting and suitable for a fish restaurant. I think we had a great time tonight and would strongly suggest Vitinn.

Situated at the light house and at the dock, it was a great memory in the evenings. We have some excellent diners in Iceland, so that's really a lot of credit. I' m happy that you enjoy my little trip and the whole event. We' re happy that our visitors spend an unforgettable night with us and look forward to seeing even more of Iceland in the world.

The restaurant has a very beautiful decor, inspires from a seagoing ship and it is near the Aiport. We had a 1.5 year old child with a hot and tolerant body, who cannot remain motionless for more than 60 seconds. We will see you again in Sandgerði the next day you are in Iceland.
