Up until recently, the major Viti Levu was not known to have the best diving in Fiji. But Rakiraki in the northern part of the archipelago is quickly recognized for its world-class diving possibilities, which are equivalent to those in Fiji.
They offer stunningly beautiful sea beds, stunning peaks and enormous quantities of fishing. Kilometres of pristine cliffs and new diving spots are still being charted and researched by the diving world. It is recommended that all divers take a short break near Pacific Harbour to go diving at Shaark Reef, where you have a true opportunity for unique meetings with Bullen Haien and Tigers.
Elsewhere, diving in Viti Levu is characterized by rigid wall corals and canals that are frequented by Pelagiern. Off the southern shore of Viti Levu you will find the beautiful Beqa Lagoon with its crenellations. It is one of the most famous diving spots in Fiji. We believe, however, that places such as the coastline have poor locations and do not really meet our requirements.
Awaiting you are large garden with huge open water fan, living hard coral, sponge, invertebrates and colorful marine mammals. Besides barracuda, tortoises and many shark types, finishing is a common phenomenon. Here you can rest on the seabed, a little away from the expert guide who distributes pieces of seafood to all passers-by - and what a sights!
Eight different species of shark visit this area and drive by to snatch a slice of meat from the extended guide palms that will make your hearts beat faster! Fiji-hai dive-clip. As you approach the entrance of the Laguna, the diver turns inwards and the coral face makes room for a sand, estuary-like bottom surrounded by crags.
Now if you've never seen them before, your best bet is to see guitarsharks, as they often move around the lake in quest of aliment. Name after their distinctive form, these scarce organisms are over 3 meters tall, gristly and part of the group of rays and sharks. 3 meters in height.
Further inside the entry to the camp several rock formation make large openings, and when the tides flow into or out of the camp, gray shark reefs collect on the rock slabs to search for nourishment in the currents. Sojourn at Pacific Harbour on the southern shore of Viti Levu for the best day trip to the Beqa Lagoon and Hawaii. Rakiraki's remote whitish sand beach on the scenic northern shore of Viti Levu is only 2 hrs by car from Nadi International Airport. All the best diving spots in the area can be easily accessed by a 20-30 minute cruise from the convenience of a diving centre on the northern shore. Viti Levu is open all year round, with July, August and September being the top month for sight.
With the diving we are recommending here, it is not really necessary to see 40 meters, as the dive is only a few meters away from the nostrils. The months of April to October are the best period of the year off the northern shore of Viti Levu, for example in Rakiraki. Ahead of the southern shore is Pacific Harbour, where the famed sharks take place.
There are up to 7 species of fish, most of them all year round. Bullenhaie vanish from November to January to breed, and June to August is your best opportunity to see bullfish. It is a large Fiji -speaking isle and when the rainfall falls during the daylight hours, the runoff can limit the view in coastal areas such as Pacific Harbour and Rakiraki.
