The Vaoto Lodge Ofu BeachThe Vaoto Lodge, Bed & Breakfast, Ofu, Ofu, Manua Islands, United States Samoa
Snoking Guide by vaotolodge.com last update Terry Skaggs March 2008. The beach of Vaoto Lodge is usually the first stop for our visitors. In the lodge you will find some basic accommodations, hammocks and hammocks to relax, enjoy the quiet and reading. This condition varies slightly to the south ( "Runway Beach") and south.
ACCESSABILITY; 5 Situated directly in front of Vaoto Lodge, this beautifully sloping beach is usually the first stop for new guests of the lodge. Smooth blank sands, small dugouts and even a hammock make Vaoto Beach a great place to relax and enjoy reading. Submerged in water features; 2 Some torn off reef tops and very little more.
OVERALL; 4 Always a beautiful, relaxed swimming and a slight change when you don't;t feeling like going on foot to a better place where a cold beverage can't be a few steps away! The National Park is recommended for swimming. Attempt to choose a high water (to alleviate the shallows) and head eastwards of Vaoto Beach past the cliffy beach that follows and into the National Park.
TO THE NATIONAL PARK. accessibility; 5 Step in at the easterly end of Vaoto Beach (just before the rocks), go out and work eastwards. It exits about a nautical arc, where the cliffs end and the beach opens up under Sunuitao Peak at the other end of Ofu.
There are about 16 phone masts from the lodge when you leave the beach to the street. Mark this place as a great entry to South Ofu Beach if you return another time. VIVIBILITY; 4 vis tends to get a little thick around the cliffs, but the fauna compensates for it.
UNDER WATER TRACTIONS; 4 Many cliffs and reefs to try out. Take care to examine the rock base and large sea urchin, octopus, star fish, etc. reefs. Between the lodge and the national park, the beach is quite rugged, meaning that the population rarely visits these areas and therefore more wild animals can be found here.
OVERALL; 3 A beautiful long bath that also takes you to the National Park (and it hits the walk on a warm day!). Because of the cliffy and rugged landscape, the cliffy beach along the path is hard to negotiate and contributes to keeping this area untouched. You will find some powerful current at the beginning of the shore, especially around the bigger cliffs and flatter areas.
HURRIKAN HOUSE THE NATIONAL PARK. You will find me, with my fingers in my hands, with the hounds on the way to Hurricane House after having brokenfund. I often begin my days here and then wander somewhere else just to get back in the afternoons. ACCESSABILITY; 5 Hurricane House is a grey building on the lefthand side of the street when you leave the lodge and head east.
It' twenty-four phone masts from Vaoto and the only one you; ll cross along the way, and looks like. Preferably, I go sixteen posts and go to the beach at this point and go the rest on the sandy rather than on the street. Its inlet to the sea is essentially everywhere from an area of wide, shallow beach stones near the 16th pier to a point of the country a quarter nile eastward of the great cliff at Anga.
It is the largest of the rocks on the beach and when you climb it you can see a USGS pointing directly to the top of Olosega mountain (where there is a companion). Hurricane House can beat a good Vis today almost anywhere.
UNDER-WATER TRACTIONS; 5 You must see it to believe not only in the abundance but also in the stunning diversity of coral and its lifeforms; find here. EASTERLY NATIONAL PARK. There is a spit of hot country to the west of Hurricane House, leading to Sunuitao Peak in the far-easternmost corner of Ofu.
On the other side of the street once was an old (today deserted and overgrown) hamlet named To' aga. Just like Hurricane House, this area has great views and fauna, but not the deep and easy swim in the western part. ACCESSABILITY; 4 In the same public area as Hurricane House, but about  one nautical miles afar.
VISIBILITY; 4 Usually the same as Hurricane House. UNDER WATER TRACTIONS; 5 Like Hurricane House. OVERALL; 4 Almost as beautiful as Hurricane House, but with less large mammals. No one offers the level of fauna and reef on the southern shores of Ofu, but these places have their own charm and challenge.
accessability; 4 Step onto the top of the sandy beach directly from Sili Street by the viaduct, or grab your helmet and hop off the viaduct. Underwater ATTRACTION; 2 Unfortunately not much to see, but a lot of jokes and..... The Vaoto Lodge owner Marge and Tito Malae. Sundown at the Vaoto Beach.
