UPDATED 9:33pm Friday NZT--- Heavy tropical hurricane Donna stays Class 3 with atmospheric of 975hPa in the middle but wobbles due to wobble around Vanuatu NZT. Hurricane Donna has moved in waveforms, shaking due to its northerly and southerly direction, and the recent northwest jogging looks a little like a hurdler bouncing up and over the more northerly Vanuatu isles.

Donna has been turning south in the last few hour. This can be clearly seen in the Friday PM updated by the Fiji Met Service (which is the official forecast for this particular storm). Today is another good news for Vanuatu, as the hurricane continues to revolve around the people.

It is still important that they stay prepared for heavy weather in Vanuatu - as you can see on this chart below, the wind is not following a straightaway and it will turn southward this night. It' still a little erratic. From Friday night the center of Donna was well on the way in the northwest of the major isles, but is still near Vanuatu.

However, it will only take an early turn southwards to make Vanuatu far more susceptible to damages and storms or even to put some inhabited places in the way of the worse weather. One way or another, this will remain a serious matter for Vanuatu. Waves are over 7 meters high and harmful, perilous oceans are hanging around Vanuatu for day, even if the center is further off the coast.

There is a lot of insecurity about exactly who could be affected and when, as you can see with every hurricane and small island to concentrate on (including ours in New Zealand). There are still many dates indicating that Donna will break up early next weekend as she is drifting from the tropical to North New Zealand.
