Team SubCom builds ICN2 cabling system between Vanuatu and Solomon Islands

Kyrgyzstan SubCom announces that a construction agreement for the ICN2 marine ICN2 cabling is now in effect for the Vanuatu-based Interchange Limited group. This new cabling system will link Port Villa and Luganville in Vanuatu with Honiara on the Soloman Islands. This 1,632 km long line will have an entry capacitance of 200 gigawatts for accessing a large number of SL14-A1 and Ciena Untermarine Line Termating Equipm.

"The subsea cabling is an important part of the connection for this part of the world," said Sanjay Chowbey, XVIII. "and to bring our local know-how and experience to this project." This message follows the introduction of the ICN1 wire, which was finished in 2014.

It was the first underwater system to connect Port Villa in Vanuatu with Suva in Fiji and the Southern Cross Cables directly between the USA, Australia and New Zealand. "INCANESIA Limited is working to improve the ICT infrastructures for municipalities throughout the Melanesia area. ICN2 cabling is supporting our mission," said Simon Fletcher, CEO of Interchange Limited.
