Usa to Hawaii

U. S. to Hawaii

One of my least popular activities, especially flying with children. Then find out why Hanauma Bay is considered the best beach in the USA. What US carriers provide reclining seat to Hawaii? Fridays newsletter always contain luxurious travelling competitions, hints, serials or messages. What carriers provide low-profile seating to Hawaii?

Even though an expansive journey into the amazing landscape of Hawaii is one of life's greatest vacations, getting there can be an ordeal. Situated in the midst of the huge Pacific Ocean, the islands of Hawaii are often mistakenly referred to as the most isolated terrestrial massif on the planet belonging to Chili's Easter Island, but the Bay waiian is still one of the furthest away from any continent's acres.

It took me more than 24 hrs to get there when I recently flown from Middle Europe to Hawaii. In order to alleviate the distress of the trip, you can either pay a lot of money for an airline Business Class seating or use your award mileage to make a free reservation.

It is important to note that Business Class is referred to as "First Class" for national flights within the USA, e.g. from the US-Hawaii. While different carriers have different types of first class seating, your Hawaiian travel experience depends not so much on the airline as on the plane model.

Today, the small airplanes between Hawaii and the American continent are mostly small in size (e.g. Boeing 737, Boeing 757 and Airbus A320), and this is not good for first-class travellers, as all small airplanes to Hawaii are more equipped with reclining or bent reclining seat than with completely low bed.

So, if you are travelling to Hawaii, you should reserve a first class seating position in a wide-body airplane with reclining seating (e.g. Boeing 777, Boeing 767 or Airbus A330). However, it is somewhat complex as some companies clearly indicate when a given service offers flatbeds but others do not, and some companies run a mixture of wide-body and narrow-gauge aircrafts on the same service and provide different kinds of first-class aircrafts.

In order to help you, I have put together a listing of all carriers and itineraries offering reclining residences between the US and Hawaii. However, my most important tip is always to verify the plane model (on the airline's reservation website) and the seating card (on the seating guru) to make sure you can actually find the best places to go to paradise.

What is your preferred carrier to Hawaii? Hawaii' islands are an important part of United's story. In May 1947, United made a significant contribution to making Hawaii an easy to access tourist and economic location with the inaugural voyage of a United DC-6 mainliner from San Francisco to Honolulu.

United' West Coast HQs in Los Angeles and San Francisco are still the USA's biggest passenger gateway to Hawaii. United currently operates a combined Boeing B737, B757, B767 and B777 aircraft from the following United states: Hawaii: To Honolulu, United operates Boeing 767 aircraft from Newark and Washington.

One of United's most popular destinations is Honolulu (from Chicago, Denver and Houston) and Maui (from Chicago) with Boeing B777 aircraft and a Boeing B757 from Denver to Maui. Several times a day United operates services from Los Angeles and San Francisco to the large Hawaii islands (Ouahu, Maui, Big Island and Kauai) with a mixture of small personal aircraft (equipped with reclining seats) and B777, the latter being used only on the Honolulu and Maui lines.

United' s first class German products are quite good: If you fly on a United B777, you can be sure you'll get reclining chairs with bespoke quilts and cushions sold by New York's premier luxurious retail outlet and New York retail outlet, Saks Fifth Avenue.

They are the same as United's old Business Class seating and are quite comfy for a home trip, although they are small and come forward and backward in an unfavourable 2-4-2-lay-out. I' ve already tested United's B777 First Class products. United' B767s also feature shallow berths, although in a different design than the B777 (2-1-2 configuration), with all seating faces forward.

This first class seat is similar to the Business Class seat United has fitted on their Dreamliner, which I have discussed here. The United B757s are small personal airplanes (not broad bodies), but I list them here as some of these airplanes have flat beds (which fly between Denver and Honolulu), although most come with normal slanted seating (which fly between Hawaii and the west coast).

United recently announces a significant expansion of services on several services between the US and Hawaii (from December 20, 2017), which will offer clients more services between the continent and the Hawaii islands than any other airline: United already offers non-stop connections between Chicago and Hawaii on a day-to-day basis and will expand its regular flight to Maui to five departures per wk.

The Delta - formally known as Delta Air Lines - also operates several services on the American continent to the Hawaii Islands: It has a one-way season flight from New York City to Honolulu on a Boeing B767. With its Airbus A330 with Airbus A330s operating in business class configurations from Minneapolis/St Paul, Atlanta and Salt Lake City, Delta operates directly to Honolulu with services from Minneapolis/St Paul and Salt Lake City only on a year to year schedule.

From next months Delta will also be flying a Boeing B767 from Salt Lake City to Maui. There are several small fleets of planes flying every day to the large Hawaii islands. A B767 only performs one service between Los Angeles and Honolulu. On its large-capacity vehicle fleets Delta runs a not so consistently first class German product:

Flying aboard a Delta A330 you will receive the superb lounge chair of World Business Class, configurated in an inverted fishbone 1-2-1 lay-out with corridor accessibility for all travelers. Delta's overhauled Boeing B767 has a graduated design similar to that of the Austrians and Swahili.

It is essentially a 1-2-1 seater setup with the footrest pocket for each chair between and under the front seat(s). Some old Delta Boeing B767 airplanes still exist, which are equipped with reclining chairs and exhausted interior spaces. So, if you want a reclining position, you are sure about Delta's A330, but the airline's B767 is a riskier one.

Delta makes it very simple to look for recumbent seat trips by placing a bedside symbol as a convenience in the results (although there is always the danger of a short-term flight change). In the past, the Boeing B757 was the working horse for the biggest airline in the USA on Hawaii lines, especially for services from the West Coast.

This period ended, however, as American was replacing its obsolete Boeing 757 aircraft with all-new Airbus A321 aircraft that were able to fly the non-stop service between the West Coast and Hawaii, even though the airline inadvertently flew a non-ETOPS-certified and therefore insecure aircraft to Hawaii at the beginning of the A321 mission.

Unfortunately, the A321 on the Hawaii itinerary is not the same as the A321 flying the trans-continental flight between Los Angeles and New York with American's superb first class inaugurations. There are only three ways to get to Hawaii in an American Airlines reclining seat:

From Dallas you can begin your trip with a Boeing B767 flying directly to Honolulu and Maui. From time to time American uses one of its B777 long-range airplanes on the flight between Los Angeles and Honolulu. The first of the two Phoenix Honolulu to Honolulu services will be carried out on one of the former U.S. Airways A330' s, all of which are equipped with reclining seating.

The Airbus A330 fleets of American Airlines have a reclining position in an inverted fishbone 1-2-1 lay-out that is accessible to all passenger. The American Airlines Boeing B767 has a tiered arrangement in a 1-2-1 seating arrangement. The American Airlines Boeing B777s have a 1-2-1 seating plan with corridor accessibility for all occupants, although there are some fine variations in layouts between the B777-200ER and the B777-300ER.

But the good part is that - unlike Delta - all American B767 still in service have all been overhauled (the older airplanes with bent wings have been phased out), as long as you are flying to Hawaii with one of the American wide-bodied airplanes, you will certainly get a first class one.

Hawaii's flag airline operates services between the tropics and New York JFK, Oakland, Phoenix, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Portland, Sacramento, San Diego, San Francisco, San Jose and Seattle. Currently only widebody jets fly to/from Hawaii, but this will soon be changed as they have ordered several A321s for these destinations.

In spite of the fact that all wide-body aircrafts to/from Hawaii currently operate, the service provided by Hawaiian Airlines is at best a blended bag: All A330s operated by Hawaiian have recently been fitted with superb first-class staterooms that offer fully low-profile seating in a 2-2-2 configurations (and are probably the best products on any flight to/from Hawaii).

Soon I will be publishing my report on a A330 Business Class service between Honolulu and San Francisco. Each B767 from Howaiian has first class seating that has been downgraded from the above mentioned experiences (and should therefore be avoided). The small remainder of Hawaiian's 767 planes will be decommissioned next year and replaced by next-generation A321 and A330s.

While Alaska Airlines, Virgin America and Allegiant Air also provide air travel between the US and Hawaii, these airlines only fly narrow-body aircrafts with reclining seated in their first class staterooms. If you are leaving Canada, you will fly either with Westjet or Air Canada Rouge, which do not have reclining seating.
