Journey from Maui to KonaArrival from Kona to Maui - Kailua-Kona Forum
Then we drove HNL to Molukai, then Molukai to Kona via Maui. Eventually, she only phoned to find out that they had raised the cost of their HNL to Molukai terribly because of the TG week-end. Your HNL to Molukai ticket was $350 against Mokulele's $60! It was a trouble-free, effective, punctual and unbelievably picturesque flight.
Everyone was great - kind, inviting and very kind (e.g. to make sure all clients were comfortably and well provided with free water). You' re flying so low that you can see many things, and the drivers were instructive, told us what we saw, and were sure that they really offered a beautiful sight.
For example, the Molukai trip was as good as any trip for a small part of the price! After that Molukai to Maui, where we had a short waiting time. Maui to Kona.
Traveling from Kona to Maui
Take a flight on the continent and land on an isle. Travelling within Hawaii, however, can be a different history. Most of the time, if you want to go from one of the islands to another, you have to travel - as is the case with trips between the Big and Maui.
Big Iceland has several different areas, each with its own character. Kona district occupies about two third of the western side of the country, with cafes, historical attractions, shops, dining and night life, and an Ellison Onizuka Kona Internacional Airporte in Keahole (KOA).
It is much more touristic, known for its first-class resort in and around Lahaina. On Maui, however, there is more to do than just lying on the beaches and going to the spas. There are also three aerodromes in Maui: Kapalua (JHM) and Hana (HNM).
When you reach Maui directly from KOA, you fly either to the OGG or the JHM. The Mokulele Airlines offer KOA to OGG and JHM directly - about 10 departures a day from Kona to Kahului and three to five from Kona to Kapalua. The Mokulele Airlines non-stop flight between Kona and Kahului takes 45 min. and costs between $90 and $130.
In order to travel non-stop via Mokulele Airlines from Kona to Kapalua, the journey should take between 45 and 50 min and costs $90 to $100. Mokulele is the only other airline to offer inter-island services, but unlike Mokulele, its only non-stop services between Kona and Maui go to Kahului Airport.
There are three to six non-stop KOA to OGG via Hawaiian Airlines every day. Hawaiian Airlines from KOA to the other Maui, Kapalua International Airports, will need a stopover in Honolulu on the way. Whenever possible, make a one-way ticket between the two isles; you will maximise your travel times and even make some savings.
