Oryctes Rhonoceros (CRB) was found to be infesting Guam on September 12, 2007.

It is not known that CRB occurs in the United States except in American Samoa. Delimitatory investigations conducted from 13 to 25 September 2007 showed that the infection was confined to Tumon Bay and Faifai Beach, an area of approximately 900 acre (3. 6 km2). The Guam Department of Agriculture (GDA) placed quarantines on all sites within the Tumon area on 5 October and extended the area to approximately 2,500 acre (10 km2) on 25 October; approximately 0.5 mile ( "800 m") in any direction from any known location of CRB outbreaks.

Located in South Asia, CRB is widespread throughout Asia and the Western Pacific, which includes Sri Lanka, Upolu, Samoa, American Samoa, Palau, New Britain, West Irian, New Ireland, Pak Island and Manus Island (New Guinea), Fiji, Cocos (Keeling) Islands, Mauritius and Reunion. There are no indigenous amphibians in Guam, but now a whopping eight amphibians are in Guam.

Since 1968 there has been a presence in Guam, and Rhinella marine (the common toad) was introduced to the isle in 1937. Other 6 amphibians, namely Hylarana gutentheri (native to the Asian mainland), Microhyla pulpra (native to the Asian mainland), Polypedates breueri (endemic to Taiwan), Eleutherodactylus plantirostris (native to the Caribbean), Fejervarya maycrivora ( "the Guam" strain which is most intimately related to F. Canadacrivora in Taiwan) and Fejervarya limbnocharis (native to South-East Asia).

South of Guam, non-native types of gras predominate a large part of the area. Though the colourful and spectacular Delonix regaia can be found all over the Mariana Islands, the Guam plant has been largely depleted. Harvesting turtles' balls was widespread in Guam before the Second World War. Chelonia Munda's turtles were lawfully picked in Guam before August 1978, when they were classified as endangered under the endangered fish law.

To guarantee the conservation of the marine tortoises on Guam, regular inspections are carried out in the course of air photographs and nesting places are logged and supervised for young animals. University of Guam (UOG) and Guam Community College, both Western Association of Schools and Colleges certified, provide higher learning programs.

The Pacific Islands University is a small open-minded, independent art institute that is recognized by the Transnational Association of Cristian Colleges and Schools.
