Nomination of Tractebel - RNS

Mining plc ("Kibo" or the "Company") (AIM: and AltX: KBO ), the Tanzanian mining prospecting and developing firm, is delighted to announce that it has commissioned Tractebel Engineering ("Tractebel"), a wholly owned affiliate of Engie (formerly GDF Suez), to perform the final Mbeya Coal to Power Project ("MCPP") Power Component and all other work, including the capacity as owner engineers, which the firm and Tractebel may arrange for further stages of the project design.

Kibo Mining CEO Louis Coetzee said: "Tractebel's nomination represents an important milestone in the strategy of the MCPP. The Tractebel Group has one of the best reputation internationally for the design and manufacture of MCPP. MCPP will profit enormously from Tractebel's rich expertise and know-how.

In addition, the trading conditions under which Tractebel operated will significantly reduce Kibo's short-term need for liquidity and financing. In turn, this will allow Kybo to finalize the mine and station viability reviews and move the MCPP to the banking proof of concept ("BFS") without having to sell Kibo's 100% interest in the MCPP.

Tractebel's nomination also concludes the MCPP development, construction and commissioning processes. MCPP now has recognized skills in the shape of MinXcon to finalize the MinXcon mine viability study, Tractebel to finalize the SEPCO III EPC contractorship and Standard Bank as finance consultant .

" Kibo contracted Tractebel to perform the MCPP DPFS and then act as owner's engineer during the following phases of the MCPP performance part. Tractebel had a very good grasp of the challenge that Kibo faces in this phase of MCPP evolution.

As a result, it was possible to work with Tractebel on a foundation where all of Kibo's technological, operating and fiscal prioritization was satisfying. Fifty-five percent of the costs associated with the work at DPFS are not due until the feasibility study is completed, a significant portion of which is not due until near or at the point in the MCPP' annual closing, which Kibo believes is economically beneficial.

The work on DPFS will start immediately and the nomination of Tractebel to run DPFS is part of a wider cooperation arrangement between Tractebel and Kibo that goes beyond the DPFS and the MCPP design and build phase. With more than 125 years of experience in global lifecycle consulting and civil and industrial power, marine and infrastructural project management, Tractebel is an internationally operating firm serving domestic and foreign institutional clients in government and retail market.

Tractebel's capabilities span the entire life cycle of these ventures, from proof of concept to cessation. Tractebel Engineering, part of the Engie Group with headquarters in Belgium, employs 4,400 people around the world, is active in 33 different markets, in particular in India, Brazil, Belgium, France, South Africa, Italy, Poland, Romania and the Czech Republic, and is participating in 140 project locations.

In over 50 years Tractebel Engineering has successfully completed multi-disciplinary and challenging hydropower and water engineering ventures in Africa. The Tractebel Group is involved in electricity production (coal, petroleum and natural-gas-fired power generating facilities, renewables, hydropower and atomic energy), demineralisation facilities, transmission and substation transmission and substation systems, natural and natural-gas, LNG, electricity transition, electricity system consultancy, smart and renewable infructure and water.

Tractebel has a very solid global success story in coal-fired power generation through its Thermal Power Generation teams; *The company's African footprint is well developed as it has been operating on the African mainland for over 150 years; Kibo Mining is quoted on the AIM in London and on the AltX in Johannesburg.

It focuses on the exploitation and exploitation of minerals in Tanzania and has control of one of the country's biggest mining law portfolio. The Tanzanian economy provides a safe and robust working climate for the extractive and kibo mining industries. The Kibo Mining has a Rukwa Raw Material Mine with a significant JORC conformal asset (see Chart 1 below) and is designing a 250-350 MW Mine Gas Cogeneration Plant, the Mbeya Cool to Energy Project ("MCPP"), formerly known as Rukwa Cool to Energy Project ("RCPP"), with an experienced financial advisory board comprising the Standard Bank.

For the Mbeya mine Kibo is conducting a definitive feasibility assessment for coal mining and a power pre-feasibility assessment with an integral Coal-Power progress review, which will be published shortly. Kibo concluded a Joint Devlopment Agreement on April 20, 2015 for the final feasibility studies and the further developement of the MCPP with the Chinese EPC provider SEPCO III.

It also has broad gold-focused interests, with Lake Victoria Goldfields and Morogoro underway. On Lake Victoria, the Company has a 550,000oz JORC conforming mineral grade mineral grade resource on the Imweru Project (see Chart 2 below) and a 168,000oz NI 43-101 conforming mineral grade mineral grade resource on the Lubando Project (see Chart 3 below) in which the Company has a 90% interest.

At the moment the enterprise is carrying out a final feasibility study for its Imweru-study. The Haneti Prospect, in which the latest engineering reports confirm the outlook for Ni, PGM, Au and strategical metal products incl. Li Li. is also held by Kibo. The Kibo Mining Group continues to hold the Pinewood (Coal & Uranium) property, in which the Group is engaged in a 50/50 exploration joint venture with Metal Tiger plc.

Lastly, the Group also owns the Morogoro (Gold) property, where the Group has also formed a 50/50 exploration joint venture with Metal Tiger plc. Prospects are situated in the mature and gold-rich Lake Victoria Gold Fields, the rising fields in the east of Tanzania and the Mtwara Corridor in the south of Tanzania, where the government is giving priority to infrastructure developments and has recently made significant investments in coals anduran.

It works positively with the local, provincial and domestic governments and works strongly to build strong relations with all business interests in all the world. It recognizes the opportunities to improve the lives and opportunities of Tanzanians by carefully developing its work.
