Wellnessington Vacation and Travelling with the Children. "Kidz Go New Zealand
New Zealand's capitol is Wellington. Indeed, Wellington, with its two kilometre center, is very easily accessible, making it a great place to walk around. Hutt towns are located a few kilometers north-east of Wellington on the Hutt River that joins Wellington Harbour.
It is Wellington's fortune to have many promenades, shores and bathing facilities right in the town, beginning at the beloved East Bay, near the town center and offering secure bathing for the family. Those who really want to leave the town do not have to drive far to get to Rimutaka Forest Park with its many well-marked hiking trails.
Orongorongo' most favourite is the 4-hour trip back to Orongorongo. The Hutt or Lower Hutt is bordering the capitol Wellington. Situated just 25 min by car or a 40-minute rail journey just south of Wellington, on the Hutt River, Upper Hutt is surrounded by bush mound with convenient accessibility to local woodland and shore trails, angling, hiking and mountain biking.
The Kapiti Island itself is 10 km long and about 2 km broad and is New Zealand's only protected area for birds between the Hauraki Gulf in the northern and the southernmost isles.
