Tau of war
Dew of WarI' ve got some question about the skill of the Tau Commander'Master of War' and the ability'Summon the Elements'. 1 ) First, just to prove that everyone else is going to read this just like me, can'Master of War' be used once per commander in your troop, per match or only once per match, no matter how many commanders you have in your troop?
2 ) Do you believe that the Kayon & Mont'ka skills are like a "pulse" that influences the Commander's troops within 6" at the beginning of the turn, when the Force is explained, and then remain with them, regardless of where the Commandant then is?
Do you think they are more like a persistent'aura' that follows the Commandant and only affects entities within 6" when the effect of the skill is used? Up to the end of the turn, you can re-roll unsuccessful scoring throws formills within 6", but these troops cannot move for any at all.
SEPT > squads within 6" can both move forward and fire as if they hadn't been moving this turn. When the Cauyon was dissolved like a'pulse', then you would be measured by the Commandant when the Force is called, and even if the Commandant later moves more than 6" away from these entities, they would still profit from the capability.
When the Cauyon was dissolved like a persistent'aura', then the Commandant could call upon the Force and then move within 6" of some entities (which did not move) and then these entities would profit from the aptitude. When the Mont'ka was dissolved like a'pulse', then you would be measured by the Commandant when the Force is called, and even if the Commandant or the affected entities would later move away from each other, they would still profit from the capability.
When the Mont'ka was dissolved like a stubborn'aura', the Commandant could call upon the Force and later, when some troops were moving (and advancing) to a distance of 6" from it, they could profit from the capability and still fire as if they hadn't been moving. 3 ) The skill of Tau Ethereal's Invocation of the Elements is almost exactly the same kind of thing.
Performed as a "6" skill, but called at a certain point in the game, so you should be playing it like a "pulse" instead of a stubborn "aura". I' m fairly sure that GW FAQ'd this shit in earlier issues to declare whether it was solved more like a "pulse" or lasting "aura" (and they remained more or less similar in 8th), but I can't recall what their response was.
