Target Maui

Destination Maui

THE RACE OF THE TITLES IS STILL ON TARGET MAUI PER ASP Women's World Tour 2014 climax was re-started today in Honolua Bay. At low and high tides Maui's Kronjuwel could be switched on just enough for the R1 runs, which were prolonged to 35 min. to give the women sufficient time. Although this is about re-qualification and the impact on the world title, none of this came into the picture today.

The Honolua Bay is as nice and historical and real a shaft as the Honolua Bay is, it is also unbelievably changeable and requires a very strange mixture of winds, swells and tides to make it'CT-compatible'. Their insane drive on the shafts to hacksaws congestion, despite a few angry turns of the rails, brought them one stage nearer to keep this vision afresh.

ASP world championship title in 2014, Carissa Moore still made the climax roll with a differently torn 8. 17 before the Californian came back with a revenge. Ranging from Sunny-esque layoutbacks to fin-freeing oil bllasts, Tyler was in quite a separate aggressive division--as if she wasn't squirting for the Women's World Title but for the men.

But we will see how the new N-Swell (350-015) fills up in the afternoons to rebuild the surfac. We' ll be monitoring the 8-12 hours NRW beacon, which is a great indication of the arrival of nitrogen in Honolulu Bay, for new indications of this well, and we anticipate the waves to be built into the over head area by late Wednesday afternoon/evening.

This can be further refined in the morning when we see that the sea is hitting the beacon. On Wednesday the new wave is installed over night and on Thursday it is bridged with a strong surge in the area of 6-10' in the face and some bigger movements at low and high tide. There will be a brief relaxation tendency on Friday, but the harmonics will persist.

Same windstorm that builds up the nearest Nwell for the next few nights will generate more NNEwell (000-025) for the week-end. Whilst the breakers on the weekends will probably not be as big as the wave on Thursday, we would still see OHW in Honolua if the wind was as predicted.
