The high summits and birch woods of Nelson Lake National Parks and the jewel-like Rotoiti and Rotoroa seas can be seen from wonderful strolls and hiking tours. Mt Cook (12,349 ft), towering above the solid, snow-capped summits of Mount Cook National Park. One side of Mount Cook is home to the majestic Tasman Glacier, a 19-mile colossus and one of the longest outside the Himalayas.
