You' ll see more of Samoa than most locals will see in their lives. Yazaki EDS Samoa staff offers'Transitional Support Packages APAI, Samoa (Talamua, October 27, 2016) - Yazaki EDS Samoa's 750 staff have been provided with Transitional Support Packages to help them plan their careers after the company's final closure at the end of 2017. Yazaki Samoa General Manager Funefe'ai Oliva Va'ai acknowledged this during a speech at the general assembly of the Samoa Association Manufacturers & Exporters (SAME) last evening.

According to Funefe'ai, the idea is to give something back to the local communities that have established the business over the last 25 years through the Transitional Support Pack. "Every Yazaki associate has a parcel containing a confirmation from the president of the corporation in Japan and an encouraging for them to remain until the closure of the corporation," he said.

Prior to the decision for a course, there was a one-on-one meeting with all staff and the opportunity to talk to the company's managers in detail. This TSP contains information about various trainings and programs that can be completed by the staff on request.

Packages contain in-house training on various competencies held at the company's plant and brief classes at the Australian Pacific Technical College (APTC), the National University of Samoa (NUS) and the University of the South Pacific (USP). Classes and training can be found in the Basic Lifecycle skill programmes up to introductory classes and workshops aimed at training and refreshing the basic skill set needed for daily in-sanction.

The programme includes Samoan tradition of print, stitching, organic agriculture and horticulture. Having questioned the most interesting classes, stitching was at the top of the small businesses that wanted to track most people. Yazaki's teaching methods are not available at the school, however, so Yazaki's teaching method is EQUAL when they can help with education and internships if needed.

Yazaki's financial inspector Peseta Peter Tone said they have researched other ways to keep the workmen and the plant by implementing other investments, but the japanese managers said no, as they are only good in car cabling and nothing else. Yazaki's Assistant Manager for Human Resource, Papalii Tate Simi said managers believe the bundle is a good business and worth the long work.

It would be very difficult to disrupt the familial bonds within the Yazaki area. Samoan President Tagaloa Eddie Wilson praised Yazaki EDS Samoa for caring for the employees and the effort to turn to Samoan to consider further opportunities for caring for the people. It also asked for a SAME visit to the Yazaki compound before closing next year.
