When you fly in Hawaiian, they usually have good cards. I really don't like the tickets from the rent ave - but some of the free brochures in the baggage areas of the airfield are quite good. When USA or Canada, you can order the Hawaii, Maui & Hawaii Island itineraries via this page.
They' re holding tickets: If you want to order a free Air Maui card, it's really beautiful: For the Maui sites, click on the one. Visit the Hawaiian Islands Forums. There are many free of charge at the airports as well as in the rentals. It is not very hard to see as an isle.
It' an isle, you can't get lost!" The Borch map of the islands of Hawaii....laminated, sturdy and foldable, but with verydetails. We--we used to love the cards issued by Air Hawaii. These were our favourite cards of all. The thread has been discontinued due to apathy.

Map Maui Routes
Acts are generally the same as state signs; see the FAQ for classification of itineraries in the lists below. As well as planning to build an east Lahaina ring road (see following listing), there were longer-term projects (apparently for an indeterminate period) to extend the motorway south-east of Lahaina to Maalaea (or at least to the two-lane Olowalu tunnel).
A large part of the motorway would be relocated to the interior of the country in order to prevent bankerosion from washing away the road bed, to prevent sporadic blockages by high swell and to release the right of way for a planned new bank-plain. PhotosThe parts of the motorway just off Honokahua are small and curvy. Approximately half a kilometer of the road near its northerly end, just south of D.T. Fleming Beach County Park, is now shut and greened for a course.
there is no road link between the southern end of in wailea and the eastern section of the piliani motorway through the interior of eastern maui. For more information, please contact Makena Road (FORMER). The Wailea Alanui Drive, Makena Alanui Road and Makena Road (part) for an open (though sometimes small and rough) road from the present southern end of in Wailea to La Perouse Bay at the southwest edge of Maui.
DOT Hawaii is planning (subject to financial availability) to construct a new bridge between and to substitute the Makena Road line that was shut down about two years ago (see below). Refer to the list for the forthcoming on Chart 2, a proposed new motorway between on Kaonoulu Street in Kihei (far northern of the south end in Wailea) and JN near Pukalani, about 16 nautical leagues to the west of Kihei, to join scientific institutions in Kihei with others on the Haleakala Vulcano.
There is another possibility, which used to be researched by Hawaii DOT and which still has strong community support, would pass Makena just down the southern side of Wailea, then north-east and up the hill at the intersection with . This is the previous section of Southern Kihei Road that I am most convinced was a former orientation of it.
1960' Hawaii PDO documentation shows that it was a landmark state road along the coastline down to Kalama Park, but just southwards of it, the 31 was shown as a suggested coastal path just off the southeastern coastline connected to Ulupalakua in the interior of eastern Maui.
Others suggest that in anticipation of the suggested domestic (re-)route, it was further southward along the coastline, perhaps down to the now sealed Makena Road (FORMER) link to LaPerouse Bay, or even (less likely). A further aggravation is that parts of the pristine seaside road to Kihei, Wailea and Makena have been blocked and/or circumvented by Okolani Drive, Wailea Alanui Drive and Makena Alanui Road to make way for new resort sites along the water.
It' s particularly uncertain whether these streets were ever part of itinerary 31, but a series of Maui County layout charts suggest that it followed at least a part of Wailea Alanui Drive, down to Makena Road (FORMER), down Kaukahi Street, the section below the still open (old) Makena Road, and a part of (old) Makena Road that was later included in Makena Alanui Road.
Formerly (old) Makena Street was later circumvented by Makena-Alanui Street, but it is not clear when this was done, or whether the name of the 31 road was ever moved to the new Makena-Alanui orientation before the name for the coastal streets between Kihei and Makena was completely eliminated.
Here is an overview of the possible former 31 routes just outside Kalama Park that are shown on various Maui or Hawaii National Charts that I have checked which contain different permits of the sections shown below (the previous section of Southern Kihei Road just off Kalama Park is the same for all routes before 1981):
Bryan's Sectional Maps, 1973 Atlas of Hawaii, 1975 Skipper Maps, 1976 Compass Maps : beinhaltet South Kihei Road (beide Segmente), South Kihei Road/(Old) Makena Road, Teil der Makena Alanui Road, Makena Road (FORMER) Segmente. The Maui County Map of 1976: including South Kihei Road (both sections), South Kihei Road/(Old) Makena Road, Makena Alanui Road and Makena Road to LaPerouse Bay; not Makena Road (FORMER) to Ulupalakua.
AAA Hawaii Folding Map 1985: contains part of the Piilani Highway, plus Kilohana Drive, South Kihei Road (second section below), Okolani Drive, Wailea Alanui Drive and Makena Alanui Road sections below that end in Makena instead of either La Perouse Bay or Ulupalakua. Whilst the following lists deal with various possible sections of the former State 31 it is possible that the name of the 31 itinerary for some or all of them comes from Maui counties and not from Hawaii DOT, and that they were always (as is now the case) counties and not state road.
It is particularly likely for sectors created after the 1960' or integrated into itinerary 31, when Hawaii's combination state and district numbering system was split into discreet state and district grids. No Hawaii DOT or other historic record I have verified indicates that the state has either completed or is maintaining any of the following sections, especially the most recently completed ones (such as Wailea Alanui Drive and Makena Alanui Road).
Shortly after the 1961 statesmanship, a Hawaii Defense and Organization Agreement (DOT) plot showed a "proposed new route" 310 (perhaps on a new direction) along the Kihei to Keawakapu coastline, which then turned south-east on a new direction heading to link up with today's Piilani Highway at Ulupalakua. Some of this suggestion developed into the new Piilani motorway years later.
It also showed a "possible motorway of the future" itinerary 321 that runs along the coastline (on an undefined route) 10. the street is blocked to the general public. No. A few recent charts still incorrectly show this road, or another road that connects the southern end of the Piilani Hwy in Wailea with the JN Piilani Hwy Kula Hwy in Ulupalakua (actually a long given up suggested prolongation of).
For the best link between Makena and Ulupalakua, a long roundabout via Kahului takes about an h. Rugged and slim, with very little visibility, especially just south of Makena State Park. It' s in private ownership (by a large landlord through whose property the road leads), one-sided and one-lane, and only during the afternoons storm, for commuteers from the east westerly of Paia to turn southbound on Baldwin Avenue southward of Paia.
An all day continuous by-pass for the entire Hana Highway through both ways of travel is a long-term alternative with proactive attention, but do not stop breathing and wait for this to do so. That part of the Hana Highway, along with a part of (including part or all of the section of the Hana Highway below, at least as far southward as the Koukouai Bridge in Kipahulu at 40m.
Curvy, slim road with several hundred bends and more than three dozens of single-lane footbridges. There are also limitations on the number of weights to be used to transport trucks to and from the many historical footbridges on this road (and even stricter ones on the only other road to Hana).
Can now be a privately owned road that' s off-limits to the general population. Both of the following sections are sorted in the opposite order to ensure consistency with the previous Hana Highway lists and end in Hana at 51m. 8, like the Hana Highway, and starts about 35 leagues due West at 15m.
One, like the Piilani Highway. PhotosMany roads (especially eastwards of Kaupo) are very twisty and small, with single-track 5mph blinds. Refer to the lists in Chart 2, starting with, for the balance of the Haleakala Highway. Approximately 0.1 mile in the center of the sector CLEARED where it was built over by the newer Kula Highway orientation, which requires a little tracing on the Kula Highway to proceed on the remaining Lower Kula Road.
