Rarotonga Cook Islands things to do
About Rarotonga Cook Islands ActivitiesDeluxe Rarotonga Accommodation
If you don't want to relax on the beaches in front of your Cooks Bay villa, you should take a look at some of the following things you can do during your Rarotonga vacation: The Rarotonga offers a wide variety of aquatic activity within the area. Snorkelling around the smaller bay islands (motus) is very much appreciated, as well as various other kinds of sport around Rarotonga, which you can practice directly on the shore.
After you have recovered at the swimming pools, by the sea or under the many palm groves, there are many other things that Rarotonga has to offers. There is always something to do, from adventures and islands night outings to the many cafés and restuarants around the isle! It is the centre of the Cook Islands.
It is only 32 km in length and can be reached in about an hours time. The capital of the Isle of Avarua is the trading center of the Cook Islands. The Rarotonga is dominant with hilltops where luxuriant rainforests are cascading to coconut-lined banks. It is almost entirely surrounded by a huge wall of reefs that includes the clear water of the Laguna and many fine sand dunes.
Rarotonga has two major highways - you can circumnavigate the asphalt highway, through the towns and past the beach; or you can take the older inner highway that meanders through areas of land such as tarot, papaya, banana and other arable land.
Forums in Fiji vs. Cook Islands
I and my fiancée get remarried in August and plan our wedding trip to Fiji or the Cook Islands. We' re especially interested in having nice sandy areas where we can spend our honeymoons together, but we also want to have the opportunity to do some things (snorkeling, walking, angling, etc.) and indulge in our own cultural life.
It seems from what I have seen that the Cook Islands beach is difficult to hit, but Fiji has a lot more to do. Hello DJ, as I am a Cook Islander, I am definitely prejudiced against your Cook Island suggestion. See Rendezvous/Rumours of Romance or Te Manava (managed by Pacific Resort - new, high end lux - charge back to PR) for your lodging in Muri, Rarotonga or Sea Change mansions in Avaavaroa, Titicaveka.
Rental car is the best way to see the islands and its lagoons. Rarotonga is beautiful because you can find yourself in a jewel, so you have the feeling that you have fled into a personal life and still have everything you can provide if you are looking for it. Walk our hills, snorkell in Titikaveka/Muri, go on the lagoons, sailing or windsurfing, fish in the high seas, dive, sailing at sundown and have a cocktail on a high seaship.
A few islands at night, dining in good restaurant, drinking lattes on Sundays, swimming and snorkeling in protected areas, doing a Polish stone massages, cycling around the islands, flying. You will be thrilled by the blue Laguna, the relaxed way of life, the luck to step on One Feet and its sandpits, to snorkell a variety of tropic fishing, to enjoy the beautiful colors of our insular sundowns, to explore the river moto on a Laguna boat trip and to kick yourself, you have really met Heaven.
Both Etu Moana and Pacific Resort are great adventures - you won't want to be out. I hope some of our last honeymoons are on-line to help us sharing the Cook Islands with you. to Rarotonga from LAX. Rumors, Sea Change and Te Manava all look completely breathtaking!
Also I see that rumors book its new site in Aitutaki from August 1. Perhaps we'll take a joyride and tell you about our experiences. So, for Rarotonga we look at some of these new features, do you think Pacific Resort and/or Etu Moana would be our best wagers on Aitutaki?
Hello DJ, I wanted to tell you about the new Rumours real estate on Aitutaki - but I didn't know you would have a breathtaking experiance at both Etu Moana and PR Aitutaki. However I have no doubts that if you stick to both rumors on Rarotonga features, you could get a really good deal by remaining at their new sisters retreat.
May I say that visiting the prestigious Aitutaki website and understanding the surrounding area and seafront will combine the Aitutaki adventure with the best in the Sth Pacific. Well, I like Rarotonga and Fiji, but I rather Rarotonga. One of Rarotonga's advantages is that it is an easy place to move around and go to different places to eat and drink.
Whether in Fiji, on one of the major islands or on one of the outlying islands, you are usually more or less caught in a resortc. When snorkeling, the Fiji coastline is garbage (the corals are dead), but most of the outlying islands are amazing. The snorkeling is better in Fiji than in Rarotonga (I'm not speaking of Aitutaki), but the Raro Laguna and beach are really nice.
As for the things to do because Rarotonga is easy to circumvent, I think it surpasses Fiji at all times. Finally, I think Rarotonga is generally better. It can be very expensive in Fiji. My fiancée and I both have the same instinct that Rarotonga and Aitutaki would make the memorable and one of a kind adventure we dreamed of.
At this point, my only questions are what would be best for us on Rarotonga. Whilst both rumors and Te Manava look completely astonishing, we are a little worried about the absence of pubs, dining, etc. in the mansions. Whilst we certainly want a peaceful Honeymoon adventure, it is always great to have the comfort of on-site service.
When rumors, Sea Change, and Te Manava are the best in race for speciality housings would the Pacific Rarotonga Estate be the best option for a more resorts like this? Thank you for the help of everyone.... we can't wait to go to the South Pacific. The whole feedback was very useful and I think we will book the Cook Islands as our Honeymoon goal.
And the last thing we need to determine is where we are on Rarotonga. Whilst rumours, Sea Change and Te Manava are all awesome, they may be a bit too self-sufficient for us (at least for our honeymoon....hey, you only get spoiled once). View from the Lagoon: Review Te Vakaroa mansions because this situation is directly on Muri with Sails Resort on the right side of the plot, and Pacific Resort on the right (seen from the lagoon) and a magnificent view of the island.
Rumors get me breakfasts, day baskets and, if necessary, a personal cook. It' a good 10-minute walk from this estate to Muri to Sails / PR and small cafés / stores etc. Many people rent cars/scooters anyway because they want to be self-sufficient and explore the islands to other places like the Tamarind House - a "must do" immo.
Snorkel to Titikaveka - the beaches behind Heliconia etc. - are great! Oh, another Muri real estate - check out the Muri Beaches Club and Spa. Extremely well located in Muri, near PR - new, luxurious, dine locally, with the best stretch of sand (thick sand ) and view in Koromiri motoru to dying.
Any property along this route is just a walk along the beaches to Sails, Aqua Sports, sailors, lagoons, country adventure. I have had a modification to look at Te Vakaroa and Heliconia Villas and I think they can be the perfect mixture of comfort and privacy. As we' re planning to make this booking soon, is there a special Cook Island tourist office that you would suggest (I don't know if this is against the board rules)?
Hello DJ, 1st Heliconia may offer more privacy than Te Vakaroa - as it is a privately owned rented mansion, on a calmer sandy shore - Little Polynesian is the same level of sophistication. New in Muri, Te Vakaroa is more popular on the beach/foot transport, but the landscape, architectonic designs and safety precautions ensure shelter.
Improved accessibility to pool activity in this town. On Sunday Air NZ will fly directly LAX to Rarotonga - arrival in Raro on Monday mornings ( (1 plane per week), and will return on Saturday evening directly from Raro to LAX to be there on Sunday noon. Air Raro is the only airline serving Aitutaki.
