There is no Quepos holiday without a sports outing.... Anglers can go on land or off shore and have the possibility of going for fly casting. Today Quepos is home to one of the most beautiful and impressing Costa Rican marine. Opened in 2014, Marina Pez Vela currently has around 200 slides that can hold up to 200 ft high.

A drying frame is also available that can hold up to 40 yachts up to 38ft. There are also many eateries and stores in the harbour and there are several angling competitions every year. Unless angling is your strength, you are welcome to take in a bunch of other adventure days out, many of which are in neighbouring Manuel Antonio.

Following the collapse of the cannabis growing industries that lay the foundation stone for the harbour, Quepos substituted its former industries for eco-tourism - which means there are many other attractions available, among them sightseeing canopies, equestrianism, sea canoeing, and windsurfing. You can swim with the fishing dives, welcome old reptiles on the iguanas or go whitewater canoeing.

And Quepos is in the limelight as the Manuel Antonio Nationalpark, one of Costa Rica's most famous nature reserves, is only 7 kilometres southerly. Quepos is also visited by many internationally renowned researchers and nature lovers who explore the amazing variety of wildlife in the area.

During the high seasons from December to August, the March and April can be quite busy and September can bring a great deal of wet. But if you are looking for more down time, May to November offers less congested shores that still carry the harbor's inherent marvel. Quepos is about 160 km away if you come from the San Jose area.

If you are driving from San Jose, you must travel through the cities of Escazu, Orotina, Jaco and Parrita. One quicker way would be to take a local plane from Juan Santa Maria International Airport and then take the fast cab to Quepos.
