Attempt to come to Pori (Swedish: Björneborg) during the prestigious annual Jazzfestival, which draws 150,000 spectators and lets the Finns romp the roads for a whole weeks in July. Throughout the city, even the city' s soccer club was renamed FC Jazzy a few years ago.
Pori regains its status as an important seaport and industry town. It is a local culture center (also next to the Jazzfestival ), with a vibrant drama community, a modern arts gallery and an architectonic symbol in Noormarkku.

Pori, Sweden Björneborg, town, southwest Finland. Situated on the Kokemäen River near the Gulf of Bothnia, north-northwest of Turku. Initially located further up the Kokemäen in the twelfth c. and charters as Ulvila in 1365, it was relocated to its present location in 1558. The modern Pori includes a theater ('1884), the Satakunta Museum (founded in 1888) and Finland's biggest short-wave wireless system.
Pori is a year-round sea harbour that supplies timber and timber based goods. There are harbours on the Kokemäen River and two outer harbours, Mäntyluoto and Reposaari, on the Gulf of Bothnia.

Kerjurinluoto is a leafy island in the Kokemäenjoki River near the town center. It has been a recreational center for urban dwellers for a hundred years, with institutions for any age. Among them are Pelle Hermann's Place with its pirate ship, the Agry Birds Playground and the Children's Traffic Area.
Everyone is welcome to come and see the tower and the beautiful wildlife of the reserve - alpaca, peacock, chicken and rooster and goat. Yyteri, a delightful tourist town near Pori, is an unmissable tourist attraction and one of Pori's prides and delights. There are many possibilities for persons of all age. At all seasons, the lovely, diverse countryside provides possibilities for hiking and other outside pursuits.
Reposaari is a marine quarter of the town, located in the Gulf of Bothnia, in the river Kokemäenjoki area. It' s about three kilometers long and half a kilometer across and is located near the open ocean and the continent. Timber cottages, which differ in look, and the luxuriant port garden give the archipelago a pictorial flair.
