Christian Camp Palm Grove
Located in the middle of a 10.5 hectare indigenous shrub, our campsite is able to provide a quiet and secluded environment for all groups. The Palm Grove is run by Brandon and Helen Hindry, who would love to talk about the possibilities of the Camps. For all groups from school, church, companies, associations or organizations who want to spend an enjoyable stay, we have the right equipment.

If you want a free campsite in the town, try Evans Bay Marina Car Park. The campsite is only allowed for independent cars with a minimum of four days' accommodation per months. When you have a Motukaraka Point Reserve car, you can spend the night free of charge as long as your car is not longer than 7.5m.
The Graces Stream is a free camping site of the Department of Conservation for marquees. Ladle Bend is a simple and peaceful free camping site on the Rimutaka Rail Trail, only suited for awnings. The Pakuratahi River is close by, making it a comfortable camp site in hot weather. Even better, it is all part of the 3-hour Rimutaka Rail Trail walk / bicycle tour.
Rimutaka Rail Trail parking is 1 km away. You can also reach the Wairarapa end of the Rail Trail via Cross Creek Rd (off Western Lake Rd). Then you can go on foot or by bicycle to Ladle Bend, which is located below the Rail Trail near the Pakuratahi River, 500 metres downstream from the break.
