P Pass Surf
Passport SurfPalikir Pass Spot Guide - Surf Forecast and Report
Shafts burst at the barriere or near a pass so that it is only accessible for boats and is always flat inside. At up to 1.2m (4ft) the shafts are easy to use, but as soon as the surf gets larger, things get serious. Delayed starts, quick down-the-line rides and empty drums are what most surf spot offers and the best is the P-pass (Palikir Pass).
It has become the superstar of the Western Pacific by creating sometimes impossible right holes and luring professionals and battery charging equipment to this isolated archipelago if the prediction looks right. There will take any surge from W-NE if just the NE is the best sense to eschew close-outs from the NW or miss the riff from the NE.
The P-Pass works without wind or with slight NE-E trade off the coast as the sea waves wind around the coastline. You can surf these right at any flood, but at low water it gets very flat. Advanced riders will be enjoying the funny, steady, head-high flood session, while professionals will be tackling the terrifying, infrequent, doubly exaggerated, super-sucking time.
It is a 20 minute cruise from Kolonia.
