Situated in the centre of the northern island, it is a huge area with many possibilities for every adventurous people. Mount Ruapehu and the main vulcanoes are for climbers on Zero Island and provide great mountaineering, iceclimbing, climbing, mountaineering, downhill and cross-country tours. From Waikato in the northern part over the Kawakawa Bay up to the Whanganui Bay there are a lot of high class cliffs.
Founded in 1987, the Central North Island (CNI) Section of the New Zealand Alpine Club comprises the Coromandel, Bay of Plenty, Waikato and Taupo. Central North Island and Auckland sections are in charge of the Ruapehu hat service program. The Central North Island also has the primary stewardship of the Whangaehu hat.

In the north, there is a great love of nautical sports - windsurfing, boat trips, wildlife angling, yachting and scuba-dipping. Taranaki went westwards towards the sunset and cut out the Whanganui river as he walked. Waikato is the first southern area of Greater Auckland. The Hamilton is renowned for its theme parks and the nearby wildlife sanctuary, which has the biggest free flying bird population in the Southern Hemisphere - an ideal opportunity to get to know New Zealand's unique indigenous population.

Wanganui is a town on the shores of the Whanganui Valley, a beautiful and beautiful valley.
