Retrospect: Phoenomenal North Island Seychelles

I had a fantastic vacation last October in the Seychelles, the mythical island of extraordinary exotic Indian Ocean scenery. A look back at the North Island of Seychelles. The North Island of Seychelles is the most exlusive hiding place in the whole wide open space I have ever seen. This stunningly stunning island retreat has only 11 sumptuous handmade mansions, all with their own diving pools, with views of the untouched, powder-white sand and blue water of the Ile Du Nord eco-reserve.

It is impertinently designed to provide the best in terms of personal freedom, locations, accommodation, service, amenities and expertise. A favourite of the world's top chefs, the ultra-pluxury resort immediately achieved global renown in 2011 when it made the Prince William and Kate news as a regal honeymoon getaway destinations. The North Island is the sacred treasure of deluxe travelling. Seychelles is a deluxe seaside destination that is years away from what any other seaside destination in the Seychelles but around the globe has to offer. The North Island is almost mythic in its fascination, with a whispering, oral call as the world's most sole hiding place among its affluent people.

Situated on a privately owned island about 30 km from the major island of Mahé. The North Island is the most northerly of the 115 indigenous archipelagos of the Seychelles. This large island is about 2.5 km long and 0.8 km broad and provides absolute intimacy and wonderful seclusion.

In spite of its remoteness on the island, it is very simple to reach the reserve by heliwagon. Zil Air chopper ride to North Island starts from Seychelles International Airport on Mahé and the exciting 20-minute trip takes you across the Indian Ocean's blue water, arriving at the resort's own landing pad.

You can also get to the resorts by boot if your flight in a chopper makes you feel anxious (as I did during my journey to the island). This latter must be one of the most beautiful in the world, thanks to its secluded position in a rocky outcrop. The North Island has a noteworthy story. Between 1826 and the 70s, the island was used as a orchard for the cultivation of fruits and herbs, as well as for the production of Guanos, Fishoil and Cobra.

Following the collapse of the Kopra supermarket, the estate was closed in the 70s and the North Island was no longer in use. In 1997, a new era in the North Island's development began when the island was bought by a group - Africa's premier liveaboard operator, Wilderness Safaris - which turned back the clock by reversing man-made losses, establishing a reserve for the native fauna of the Seychelles and developed the world's premier privately owned island hideout.

Near the lounges are the libraries and diving centers, which are accommodated in genuine blocks of corals, which originate as coppra plantations from the time of the North Island. Though there is a small reception and area for concierges, the resorts lack a official one. Situated on one of the three granite rocks on the island, the resort's magnificent indoor and outdoor pools are just a few minutes away from the main city.

Though hidden in luxuriant rainforest, the swimming pools offer beautiful views of the dazzling beaches and Indian Ocean's blue water. The North Island has eleven palace-like mansions, all of which offer immediate entry to the beautiful Anse d'est beaches. You are lifted more than one metre above the floor to capture the island breeze.

Every mansion (except mansion 11, see below) has two air-conditioned bedrooms: an unbelievably large main room and a second room that can be converted into a work room. They all have an open plan living room (with couch and dinner table), an adjacent kitchen area (including a mini bar, which must be the most generously proportioned in the world), an outside swimmingpool and a covered saloon (to unwind in the shadow when it is too warm for outside activities), and a large outside terrace floating above the huge gardens, and an amazingly nice semi-outdoor bathhouse with the size and feeling of an ultra luxurious bathhouse.

A mansion known as Mansion 11 or Mansion North Island is different from the other ten mansions. It was not only redesigned to fit the slope along the extremely north side of Anse d'est Beach, it is also more of a resorts within the resorts breathtaking 750m2.

Much of this room has been added in several stepped planes that cascade down the granite rocks to the sea, with scenic palm trees providing a pristine setting. It is the ultimative beadvilla of the class for wedding-travellers. Every North Island mansion has its own electrical gulf stroller that allows you to move around the island.

There are also bikes for guests, both adults and kids, to get from one side of the island to the other with the greatest of difficulty. Situated on a cliff above the swimming pools with views of turbid water and spectacular crags. We have only three rooms for treatments, each in an exquisite design pavillon.

Professionals at the Resorts use the island's own botanical extracts in their work. When you arrive, all our clients are given a free 30-minute walk, legs and back massages that relieve the stress of the trip and allow them to smoothly enter island modes. This gymnasium is located above the swimming pools next to the thermal baths and is equipped with state-of-the-art exercise facilities.

In addition to the meals in the room, there are two restaurants on the island, which are suitable for various gastronomic adventures at will.

It was also the setting for the Hollywood stars George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin's 2014 Aman Venice flitter. In 2009 David and Victoria Beckham were celebrating their tenth marriageday. Salma Hayek, the famous German actor, and Francois-Henri Pinault, the famous Franciscan man, also went to the North Island on their honeymoons.

Seychelles is part of the world's longest system of reefs and has some of the best divesites in the game.
