South and North Islands, New Zealand Airport

There are frequent non-stop services between Australia's most important airport and New Zealand's Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, Queenstown and Dunedin. Some of the most important airline companies flying between Australia and New Zealand are Qantas, Jetstar, Virgin Australia, Emirates and Air New Zealand, but also those using New Zealand (especially Auckland) as a stopover on long-haul routes.

Included are SAS, LATAM, Thai Airways and American Airlines. For most Australians no visas are required to travel to New Zealand. New Zealand: You can take prescribed medications with you as long as they are in their proper package, you have the prescriptions or a note from your physician and you do not have more than three consecutive weeks in your luggage (a six-month course of contraception is the exception).

Taxi and shuttle buses run from outside the arrival area (see airport website for avarage rates and to pre-book a car if you have specific needs). SkyBus operates two different services to the centre of Auckland 24/7. A 380 Airporter Coach links Manukau with Onehunga via Auckland Airport and Papatoetoe Railway Terminal.

Rental counters are in the arrival area of the airport and on the groundfloor of the parking garage opposite the Inland Area. These are Avis, Budget, Europcar, Hertz and Thrifty. Campers and motor homes can also be reserved in advanced and picked up at the airport. There is a free of charge shuttleservice every 15 min. from 5.00 to 22.30 between the national and the foreign termini.

Taxi and shuttle services depart from outside the luggage area on floor 0 of the primary station. Airport Flyer Coach (line 91) takes you over the centre of Wellington to Lower Hutt. 12 km northwest of CBD. Taxi services run from outside the International Arrivals Hall and from outside the Regional Lounge, between the airport and the parking lot.

You can book your preferred service in advanced or at the i-SITE counter in the lobby. Busses to the center of the town and other locations leave from outside the arrival area. Airport Hopper is a free of charge shuttles between the airport's main airport and EconoPark near by.

In the arrival lounge there are counters for cars and motorhomes for rent. When you have little to spare, a home trip is the simplest way from one end of the land to the other, with northern Auckland to Queenstown in the South taking less than two inches.
