My marvellous ancestors who sent me and my fiancee to Norfolk Island this past months brought us home to this magnificent island paradise in the South Pacific, relaxing and full of awe. Only an hour 45 minutes flight from Auckland, Norfolk Island is one of the most easily reachable sub-tropical Pacific Island for New Zealanders.

If you talk about "island time", you really start to realize its importance when you go to Norfolk Island. As most Norfolk Islanders are descendents of the Bounty rebels, their patrimony is very important and intriguing. One third of Norfolk Islanders, one third of Australians and one third of New Zealanders are about 1,600 inhabitants.

It is a part of Australia, but with its own self-governing legislation. Jewelry is abundant on Norfolk Island and you will be spoiled for choices, from nonchalant jewelry to sparkling stones - there are tens of thousand of gems to blind you and they are all very inexpensive. It is owned by Cliff, a New Zealander from Auckland who has fallen in love with Norfolk and settled there.

Renting a vehicle on the island is definitely a prerequisite, and you can move around the streets (50km/h maximum speeds and 40km/h in the township) and rent a vehicle for about $27 for two nights, which makes traveling very cheap. Norfolk pine trees are everywhere, along with some of the world's highest treeferns and plentiful Kentia, with lush flowers of Hibiskus, Frankiepani and other gorgeous aroma.
