The Naval Air Station (NAS) North Island is situated on the Coronado Penninsula in San Diego Bay, California as part of the Naval Base Coronado. The NAS North Island houses two carrier vessels, two Deep Submergence Rescue Vehicles, about 23 flight teams and 80 other rental entities, among them the Naval aviation depot.

Aircrafts flying on the basis comprise MH-60S Knight Hawks, SH-60F/HH-60H Seahawks, MH-60R Seahawks, SH-60B Seahawks, C-40A Clippers and C-2 Greyhounds. Once all vessels are in the harbor, the basic populations can grow to 35,000. It' similar to a small town with a commissioner's office, exchanges and many leisure activities. Coming from I-5 (North or South): From the CA-75 take junction 14A towards Coronado (via the Coronado Bay Bridge). Keep driving on CA-75, which turns into 3. road. Keep in one of the two right tracks to get to the NAS North Island entrance. When you come through the door, drive ahead on Stockdale Boulevard.

Pass two sets of roundabouts on your right. Keep going ahead as Stockdale Boulevard turns slightly to your lefthand side and becomes 4St. Keep onto Fourth St., which turns further to your right (you are crossing an airfield taxiway) and becomes Read Road. Take the first right after the taxi way on Read Road onto McCain West Blvd.

Keep going ahead. Turn lefthand onto Hanger Rd at the end of this street.
