Most Beautiful places in new Zealand North Island
Best Places in New Zealand North IslandNapier is the first and only town on my roster and sets itself apart from the New Zealand area. You can find more Napier images here. It'?s like the western shore of the South Island is on the brink of the earth. The Punakaiki is a small village that does not exist for any other reason than to serve the horde that come to see the most distinctive characteristic of the area: a singular rocky coastline known as Pancake Cliffs.
You can find more images of the Waikato River (including the Waikato River Baungee Platform) here. The Franz Josef Gletscher is a great attraction on the west shore of the South Island. Together with an US woman I meet in Punakaiki to attack a 1300 meter high hill named Alex Knob to reach a higher (and cheaper) viewpoint of the ice than we would expect from a led trip.
Other Franz Josef (and Punakaiki coast) images are here. Christmas in the Abel Tasman National Park on the South Island. It was my initial plan to do a whole five-day trip along the coastline and celebrate Christmas in the hinterland, but I chose to make it brief when I realised I was the only single walker on the way - among about a dozen holidaymakers.
So, after one overnight stay out there, I turned back to spending Christmas Day with my buddies in Marahau near by. There were two times I visited this relaxed area north of Abel Tasman. During the second journey some of my buddies and I visited the northerly border of the cove - a 30 km long sandy area named Farewell Spit.
Not many photos were taken because I was scared to get dirt into my cam, but I will never get the feeling out of my mind. My first full New Zealand full tag, my hosts from Auckland took me to three amazing Waitakere beach areas just outside the town. And I was amazed at the ease of these places' natural beauties.
This was the ideal start in New Zealand. I love the place all over the globe - a less known place named Anawhata Beach. For more Waitakere images click here. It is a jagged, vulcanic scenery more similar to Mars than the North Island of New Zealand. We have a 19 km long walk through the centre, known as Tongariro Alpine Crossing.

Most of my last weeks I stayed in New Zealand and drove with a rented vehicle through the curvy coast highways. Allegedly it is the area where the first people arrived a thousand years ago in New Zealand.
Other Coromandel pictures will be published soon on David Goes Kiwi. The first thing I did to get ready for my New Zealand journey, I think, was to get a place on the Milford Track. It is New Zealand's best known walking route, and each year there are only a few places.
In August I made my reservation and the first free place was 29 January. Walkers are recommended to be prepared for torrential rain as the Fiordland area is devastated all year round, but wondrously we had four sunny orchards. I was overwhelmed by New Zealand's beautiful nature manyfold. This is only ten of the places I have gone in my six month stay, and there is so much I have not seen.
And New Zealand has a part of my belly forever. No-one remembers going to New Zealand.
