The Maui Travel Report - Maui Forum

It is my late travel report of our Maui holiday from April 16 to 26. It was our fourth time in Maui, and certainly not our last..... we will be back in early November. TO's plane was an hours late on the asphalt due to a mistake in the luggage....not really sure what that meant, but we had an astonishing team and didn't even realize the more time.

Since AA has only one dayly non-stop service from Toronto, we went to LA the previous one. We' re at Marriott LAX. Now, when we got there at 22:30 (1:30 Toronto time), we were welcomed with signposts saying that there was a DISNEY Dance finale at the motel.... for a childless 41-year-old pair, who might as well have said there was a Hell's Angels gather.

There' re hundrets of teenage girl walk around the motel smiling, shouting and quite a terror. Playing ball from 14 to 20, I recall that I was exactly what I was in a motel, a noisy, repulsive gur. Corridor dinners and orphaned teenage women make for an unfortunate, insomnia sleep. But on the other hand, their bunks are probably the most comfy at LAX.

Around 7 o'clock in the morning we leave the motel and say good-bye to the Disney would-be and were on our way. Came on the 9:00 a. m. from LA. An elderly Briton opposite us, who had traveled around the globe and had previously been in every state in the USA, came into my room during the whole 6-hour trip, but he was very interesting and kind to speak to me.

He seemed fortunate to have a rest from all this gossip and was reading his work. On the way back we spent the next overnight and remained at the Sheraton Gateway - good hotels, but the bed was very tight, and the Sheraton took over 30 min. to be there.

On our next trips through LAX we select the Sheraton Gateway vs. the Marriott LAX. I took a cab to Four Seasons Wailea and booked into the city. During the Easter recess the room was full and we had to stay an hours and a half to get into the first room.

That took about another one hour. I' m informed that they "waited" for this room after we have gone to eliminate the stench. It was the end of the first morning and we were so exhausted that we had just ordered room services (excellent burgers) and named it a dark one..... we still have difficulties adapting to the 6-hour timezone chang!

It was my own personal birthdays the first evening and that was my three-year long custom, so I was very upset. We were sitting at a not exactly perfect dinner in the centre of the eatery, in the company of many kids, although our waitress Javier was very kind and effective.

Out of the motel we went to Tommy Bahama's, whom we always loved.... Get the seafood touco! We just got up after about 15 minutes and walked away. It may seem odd to some not to hire the vehicle from the airfield, but this will save us the trouble and the additional costs for the first evening, which will have an impact on the taxi's costs anyway.

The Easter holidays - that's definitely how we learnt our Easter travel lessons. It was a very lively place, and there were probably almost 150 kids. Most I' ve ever seen in this place was maybe 20. If you have any question about the restaurant or your accommodation, please let me know.
