Maui vs. the big island in Showdown! Choosing between Maui and the Big Island can be a challenging decision, especially when you're in Hawaii for the first a year. While we recommend that you visit both, if you have to decide, it depends on your preferences: accommodation, activity and fun.

SYNAPSIS: If you' re into beach and you want to spend the nights drinking and dancing, Maui is the island for you. When you want to discover some of the country's most beautiful natural sites, see some of the best scenery, and play world-class resort and course game. This big island is for the adventuresome traveller who longs to discover it.

The Maui is for the holidaymaker. And Maui: Maui: It is not often that one finds so many lovely, enchanting holiday houses and hotels on an island. Opportunities vary from Hawaii' heritage havens to ultra-luxurious villas spread across the southern and western coastlines. New Orleans, Big Island: Just like Maui, Big Island offers a large selection of holiday apartments and hotels, from cosy plantation-style houses to flamboyant properties.

The Hana Highway, one of the most beautiful roads in the whole wide globe, provides breath-taking possibilities for the adventure seeker to explore ocean cliffs, cascades, bamboo woods and dark sandy sands.

The Big Island consists of five huge volcanos, among them Kilauea, which has had an energetic stream of volcanic activity since 1983. Hawaii National Park guests have the exceptional opportunity to hike or cycle to a place where the warm volcanic ice clashes with the Pacific Ocean.

There are plenty of outdoor pursuits such as horse back rides, coffeefarm excursions and daily excursions to picturesque cities such as Waimea (Kamuela) on this huge island, which offers an impressing diversity of landscapes due to its many climatic areas. Big Island also offers great possibilities for snorkelling, playing a game of snorkel and unique occasions such as snorkelling at sunset with mantas.

And Maui: Maui: Though Honolulu does not have the same night life, Maui offers restaurants, night clubs, tiki-los and diving-bar. Rumours have it that the best Mai Tai cocktails on the island can be found at the two Monkeypod Kitchen sites in Wailea and Kaanapali.

New Orleans, Big Island: When you choose a place that' s built on the nocturnal life, the Big Island is probably not for you, as most places of interest end prematurely. It is better to spend the latter part of the day walking along the shore, enjoying the soft ripples and the cold breezes.
